So I assume Foyth the youngster from Argentina came straight from another county physically ready and adapted for English football while KWP is still settling makes sense.

If anyone wants to know why English football is as it is. There were 3 of ours players at the last u20 World Cup. Two from the academy, who won, one is currently on loan, and the other, after getting MOTM on PL debut is on the bench tonight and has only made one other start this season. The other didn't get past the group stages, but was bought but from abroad but is of course ready for us.

Similarly we had another academy player at the previous World Cup who won, and has left, and another who has featured in 2 World Cups got further than the signed player but of course is on loan.

They just aren't anywhere near as ready, and have a few more hoops to jump through.

The funny things is someone actually posted a highlights package of Foyth from one of his games at the World Cup, and there were comments like, he looks good on the ball, good signing to strenghten the squad. People posted Onomah's highlights from games, where he was MOTM and people said, it's against kids, there's no way you can see he is ready for the PL from that

At least no one can accuse Poch of not taking this seriously. I'm happy he is, just think KWP and some other academy player wouldn't have undermined anything

Ok, the last paragraph was pure conjecture on my part.

What about last season and @coys200 claim that injury influenced him not getting more starts in the league?

He went 4 months while avaible without getting a league start.

I have always liked him. I think he has ability but I';; admit he isn't top class. He is a good striker and quite versatile. Been injured for a while, and I haven't seen him play in ages. Good he scored on his return but I don't know where he stands atm.

I'll say, not much, for now, but you never know

Yeah his finish was nice with the ability to control that through ball from Edwards. He looks to have the body type of Rashford, but I have no idea how he plays so just going off physique.

To play devil's advocate I would expect it was simply a choice of who Poch felt needed more rest. Toby, Sanchez, and Jan have played a lot of minutes recently so it makes sense to bring Foyth in to rest one and play Davies as LCB for the other. If you play KWP on the right then you have Foyth and KWP on the same side and I don't think Poch fancies that this year. If you play him on the left then Rose has to sit and we need LB depth more than a 3rd RB. It is unfortunate for KWP and I would love for him to start but I don't think the decision was "play the Argentinian and screw the English youth". Especially from a manager who has self professed love of English players and developed many of them.

To play devil's advocate I would expect it was simply a choice of who Poch felt needed more rest. Toby, Sanchez, and Jan have played a lot of minutes recently so it makes sense to bring Foyth in to rest one and play Davies as LCB for the other. If you play KWP on the right then you have Foyth and KWP on the same side and I don't think Poch fancies that this year. If you play him on the left then Rose has to sit and we need LB depth more than a 3rd RB. It is unfortunate for KWP and I would love for him to start but I don't think the decision was "play the Argentinian and screw the English youth". Especially from a manager who has self professed love of English players and developed many of them.

Fair points and possibly. I don't think a player who has done well already in the PL is going to let himself down especially after Trippier played on weekend.

To clarify I never think and never have thought that is Poch's mentality. I believe it is part of the unconscious mentality of, what we don't have is always better than what we do have. We're all guilty of it, especially the PL

IMO the transition between U20's and U21 is the problem

The U21's may of reached the semi finals but they only beat Poland and Slovakia in the tournament

When we get to U21's we no longer have enough playing time amongst our most talented youngsters to justify their selection or they have missed the experience of playing time and are starting to stagnate

not saying that isn't a reasonable explanation but it also emphasises just how every little piece of the jigsaw has to fall into place just for these lads to get a game, any other country and it's a no brainer to give your talented u20 world cup winner and current national team u21 player a game like this.

First paragraph is a good point and goes to show how everything has to essentially fall in the place, and the situation must be optimal just to get a chance.

Re: 2nd paragraph just on cue, if KWP was responsible for the 2nd goal due to a mistake or made the error Trippier did against Burnley you know people will say he isn't ready yet, needs to work on his defending or go out on loan. As it is, KWP actually got MOTM on his debut.

CCV was up against the strongest player in the football league last year in his 2nd game, something he won't ever experience again, and apparently was then not ready and out on loan he is. Will people suggest Foyth needs a loan of course not, and he doesn't need one, just the double standards. I read in the Foyth thread someone say 'you can see where the Beckenbauer comparisons come from' after one appearance for us and I assume the highlights package of his game against England u20s.

FWIW I thought he looked decent but that game could also have been given to KWP to also make a mistake in and learn from

We need to get Edwards involved in the first team. A dribbler is what we don't have in attack besides Son.

Put Edwards in with better players and I think his motivation will increase greatly.

He needs to work on his strength, and bulk up a bit, but from what I've seen from him is that he get's bullied off the ball too easily, but I do think he would be a good addition to the first team.

I’d rather have Bennett’s ( prefer him as a LW than LB ) over Nkoudou
