Who is #11 blazing down the left? I feel like I have read something about a U-18 player that has been skinning people down the left. That him and who is he?

yes, it's him.

j'neill lloyd-bennett, he's an u16 who has just recently started playing up with the u18s.

That's the name, thanks! Seems advanced in physical development for a u16. Another Skipp perhaps? Is he more of a winger or a LWB?

winger.

i wouldn't say skipp is particularly advanced in his physical development compared to others but he plays with a level of maturity rarely seen from players his age. lloyd-bennett i haven't seen properly yet but i can imagine he was finding it too easy against u16s so they've pushed him up where he won't be able to rely as much on physical advantages, either way it seems he's settled in instantly and is doing well.

Paris Maghoma looks hugely exciting can’t believe he is just 16. I never really saw Onomah at that age so can’t compare. But of all our CM prospects he looks the most exciting to me.Exoect to see him around 1 st squad next season
JLB also looks an amazing talent.
Not sure about Richards might just be a defoe/Wright type right place right time.

I would take a right place right time player right now. Don't think you can knock that innate ability, which I don't think you are, but some people slight that ability for some reason.

My word if Richards is anywhere near as good as Defoe or Wright then we would have found one amazing young player

Honestly that comment is I am sorry ridiculous

Our great Jimmy Greaves was the epitome of being at the right place at the right time.

Why is it ridiculous he has scored x2 hatrick s in a week. It looks like all his goals are poachers goals. Not sure why it’s a ridiculous comparison at all. Was Just quantifying the type of player he looks.

Think @ralphs bald spot has a problem with the "might just be" that implies a defoe/Wright type wouldn't have their uses in the modern day spurs squad.
Which I think a fox in the box type would be very useful as United has showed with the likes of Hernandez and solskjaer help them to many titles and trophies over the years.

Yeah the emphasis should be on the “Might” as in he may have just got lucky in a couple of games. Although I think he scored a load at U16 as well.

sorry but the players you mentioned are both great goalscorers and though both are predators they offered much more than that at their prime. Today they twould be worth huge amounts in the current market. To label either of them as Johnny on the spot types is doing them a huge dis-service, you only have to look at JDs goal the other day.

Young Richards if he has half the career of either of those two will be doing better than alright

I read a stat that he scored 27 times for the under 16's. I don't know how reliable that stat is but that is phenomenal if true, in that age group when the men start getting sorted from the boys. I'd never heard of him until a few weeks back so he must have flown under the radar. Is he a winger or an inside forward? A mate of mine goes to the odd youth game and thinks he is an inside forward stuck on the wing and was worried that it was hindering his progress. I know nothing about him so its exciting to see we've nabbed another Arsenal reject who may have potential. We know how the last one went :D(y)

I wrote this when I saw him play for our u15s. I've been impressed in the few times I had seen since, and again whenever I saw him come on for the u18s this year, I thought he has instantly been effective, and performed better than Griffiths when he came on. And I like Griffiths. I didn't hear about that stat, but funnily enough Sterling got his hype after a similar goals record at u16s but he was posting it on twitter so everyone got caught up. If Richards had done similar he may have more hype but has seemingly floated under the radar. On the bits I've seen he is as good as any academy striker I've seen so far, in terms of intelligence and his finishing looks good. I wouldn't call him a winger, as far as I knew he was an out and out striker but when he starts for the 18s he floats in from the right. I wouldn't say he's stuck on the wing. 2 hattricks in one week for someone with odd starts is very promising regardless.

I never disliked him personally as I don't know him but I saw him play, admittedly only a few times, and each time I was left unimpressed.

He looked like another Goran Bunjevcevic to me honestly. Remember him? He was Glen's first signing as manager and was introduced as the Serbian Beckenbaur. Veljkovic is similar, elegant but without the extra aggression you need to handle yourself in the English game where CB's and forwards get a lot more intimate then they do on the continent. I also found he lacked pace, particularly in those first few yards where an Aguero can turn you and leave you 2 meters behind grasping thin air.

I suppose I get frustrated when young players are bigged up and you know they aren't the dogs balls, but sometimes in these threads they come across like that. BTW I like your posts, always informative and good reading. Sorry if I come across as a negative **** at times - but we all have our opinions :D

I must have watched him tons of times, but people need to be aware, that whenever a player is bigged up it is only to fill a squad position initially. You don't have to be exceptional to be a squad player. That's not top class that is to say he could fill in for a first teamer in Cup games. Plenty thought he had massive potential, like me, and if he ever got that chance he could have earned more opportunities, but please remember all we ever ask is for them just to get chances as a squad player. Think of it like this, we bought Wimmer, from the Bundesliga who is 3 years older than Milos and had a great first year as a squad player. We have bought Foyth now 2 years younger as a squad player. Bare in mind Milos played well at CB in our preseason and could be going World Cup now and has won the u20 World Cup and made team of the tournament, the same tournament we ended up signing Foyth from after not doing much(relatively speaking), and Milos made TOTT. Why could he not have been included in squad. He was also versatile. That was all. Not replace Vertonghen or Toby. I think people catch the wrong end of the stick when we push or big up the academy players. I don't want any running out against Juventus, but playing in CC why not? Imagine the money saved and the money made, and another potential academy star coming through.. It's all good though, we all get frustrated just passion bubbling over

I wouldn't get too excited about goals for the U16s, doesn't Tom Carroll hold the record for us having scored 60 in a season? Correct me if I'm misremembering.
