The Shashoua brothers have an interesting background. Their father is CEO of an International Conference and Events organiser (primarily Russia and Asia). They were born in Chelsea, lived in Russia for a few years when their Dad was working there. They also went to the Harrow school.

these articles always make me laugh. This guy wanted to write a piece about an arbitrary amount of randomly aged prospects and happened to get them all in the same place for photos at the same time? Must be an agent plant or something.

This is so stupid, over the last week or so, Robson,Siziba, Muir and Aird-Munn have been posting their individual clips on their instagram. It is something from Smart Coach that provide one on one coaching for young people. They have done promotional work and some reported has picked up on it and decided to write an article in the hope of being able to catch one early.

I also doubt how much the reporter actually knows about any of them I personally haven't seen anything in Aird-Munn to get excited about yet but apparently he has a rocket shot and is like Leon Bailey. Seems like all it does it put pressure on some boys who are just trying to have fun. People will read this and expect these kids to be prodigies. The only one I can claim to be really impressed with is Muir.

aird-munn and muir do look very good, not sure about them stating the latter's height as 6'1 though.

Looks like we can add another variation in the spelling of Muir's first name. Is it Marcus, Marqes or Marques

I'd be amazed if Marques is taller than 5'8". 6'1 my arse!

He is about 5"9 when I was standing next to him, though his afro may have deceived me

Only 2 sub apps in the league were under 10 mins, Newcastle were 2-1 up when Kane came on with 25 mins to go and if price tag played such a big factor as you believe, Soldado would have played more mins prior to Kane's hattrick than Kane in all comps, which isn't the case.

Your one of my favorite posters on SC and I appreciate the insight you give us but I feel like your disappointment with the chances youth players haven't been getting recently is clouding you memory a bit.

Must have misread transfermarkt. I couldn't remember the Newcastle game myself so went off what they had. Both Adebayor and Soldado played a lot more than Kane did in the Premier League. As I say Poch and a lot of managers treat the EL as a 2nd rate competition and play squad player. I wouldn't say that getting lots of minutes in that means someone thinks highly of you. Redknapp sent a whole B team to far off countries to avoid playing first teamers. Even Onomah has had a start in the compeition, ironically the ONE time he started in one of his 2 favourite positions against Bakayoko and Moutinho and we won 4-1. Clearly those matches are 2nd rate. I do question why it took Kane until November to get a start in the Premier League with 2 under performing strikers ahead of him, when the line peddled out is if you are working harder than your rivals in training, you will get chances. So either Poch believed the other 2 strikers were working harder, than him, were better than him or there were other reasons they were being given chances ahead of Kane.

I believe your memory is more exceptional than mine is poor mate. I don't know how you retain this all.

Genuinely cannot get on board with that, in the slightest.

You or @spurs9 will be able to advise better, but didn't Redknapp once move Bale back to the left in one game, where fans sang 'he plays on the left'. I remember them singing but can't remember if then changed positions

Troy Parrott played for Ireland u16s as they lost 3-2 to Hungary. Parrott is reminded me of Edwards at u16s for us. Never seeming to play for us and only ever playing internationals

Our ex player Timi Sobowale is also in their squad. He seems to have gone back to his old club Waterford FC

Soldado only played 136 mins in those 9 league games, so it's not like he was rested for the EL. Also, Adebayor (our 1st choice striker at the time) played up front with Kane in those EL games, so I don't think you could definitively say that Soldado was ahead of Kane.

My memory is aided by the internet TBF and is only good for useless facts. Anything academic is forgotten the next day and anything my Mrs says is forgotten within 5 mins.

Sobowale is a real mystery. I'm pretty sure I read Irish news reports that we'd signed him but then within a month or two he's shown in a Man City kit and then...well nothing and as you say, he now seems to be back in Ireland full-time so to speak. I can only assume he either has an awful attitude or got really homesick, which can happen.

Pleased that Troy is still doing well, he seems to get man of the patch in every RoI game he plays. Be very interested to see and hear about how he adapts to full-time training next season. He's been commended on not just his excellent skill but also his attitude and tenacity which is a very promising foundation for any youngster breaking in.

Chris Paul has gone on trial at Coventry from qpr

Although it'll probably be a loan I think its probably a loan with a chance for him to win a contract in the summer. He's unlikely to break through into the QPR side as naff as they are. I think they've converted him into a centre back which is an interesting move because he was seriously limited everywhere else he played. I don't like to be too critical of the youngsters but he was one of the poorer ones, technically, that I've seen.

you'll have seen him way more than i have but i was impressed in the little i saw of him at the tournament in qatar, he reminded me of sterling(raheem) a bit actually with his build, quick acceleration and good feet. talking about him(and the others in the article) as prodigies at this age though is silly and as you said doesn't help them or anyone.

I missed a couple of the games I think in that tournament. I have seen him play a bit in an indoor tournament and the Cayman Cup but whatever you saw more recently probably gives a better idea. I have heard he is decent though so I wouldn't go off my view.

IIRC at u16 he was a CB and he was decent. I'm struggling to remember now, but I feel he was alright in the games he played there for us. I'd have to go back through my old posts. Ultimately he was never going to be good enough in any position
