IIRC at u16 he was a CB and he was decent. I'm struggling to remember now, but I feel he was alright in the games he played there for us. I'd have to go back through my old posts. Ultimately he was never going to be good enough in any position

My memory is of him playing right back or central midfield but you could be right.

Don't understand why, even when winning 5-1, we bring KWP on to play left back...

Making the argument that Onomah isn't ready to play CM is one thing, But to play a full back on the wrong side is just pointless...

He's played a lot of games left back. Either way, just like Onomah, playing out of position has to be seen as an opportunity to develop.

so happy for KWP, even without the goal I thought that was the best performance he's had for us so far. loved how he won the ball back that set up his one two pass and move finish. It's the type of play this club was built on.

the problem isn't where KWP got brought on tonight, that's not gonna make or break his career, it's the general attitude towards his development this season. He's been kept at the club as emergency cover but not been used enough to ensure it doesn't disrupt his development. He was already probably a year of pro football behind where he should've been. Now he's two. He'll be 21 in April and he's played as many England U21 minutes as he has senior club minutes.

Woah woah woah, don't you start asking question about the development of academy players in this thread. Move along mate.

He's proven that 10mins out of position is more than enough as he got his goal. I can only see this benefiting him in the future, and leading to more chances.

I of course agree with you, but unless one of Aurier or Trippier leave, which I can't see happening, the hard working Spurs fan with a great attitude and ability won't be getting any chances here, and apparently rightly so.

Come on you're being ridiculous there, acting as if a vast majority of this thread isn't very much anti-poch on this issue now, you can't act like a persecuted minority anymore when most people agree.

Also who said KWP shouldn't get a chance ffs, just ridiculous, everyone in this thread wants the same thing and you know it so trying to mischaracterise people as youth haters is a pretty shitty move.

In terms of what the poster said it's a bit of an overreaction to say he's 2 years behind where "he should be", what does that even mean?

He's about to turn 21 and has started 4 games in senior football, one of them he was withdrawn at half-time. He was ready for some form of senior football last season and had well outgrown the U23s. Now he's had another season where he's barely played any football at any level.

That actually helped him to score. Cut to his preferred right coming from the left side. Hope that goal gave him more belief that he will ultimately make the breakthrough to our strongest XII

Patience grasshopper. He has 1000 more training hours with Poch and staff. He continues to improve. He will get his chance.

Hopefully we might get to see some more of him next season. As long as BT Sport still have the Bundesliga that is.

I get that a lot of you are frustrated about youth integration this season. Makes sense and I have no reasonable counter, but the number of people on here who can't just be happy for KWP.... yeesh take a night off. Get a drink... have a wank... whatever, just chill and be happy for him. Those complaints will still be there tomorrow for you to be angry about.

I disagree with this whole sentiment. I see that you just joined in 2017 and I don't know if you lurked on this sight before signing up, but previous incarnations of this thread when @Spursidol ran the show, back when Kane, Mason, Townsend, Livermore, Caulker, Rose, Obika and Smith were breaking through this thread was all about their development and backing them.

Now I know you'll say, but times have changed competition in our squad is at an all time high. While I agree with that this squad is miles ahead of the best of Redknapp's lot, but they still played at an incredible level making it very unrelistic to expect any of these youths to break through. Very similar to current conditions.

That didnt stop us fans from voicing our ideas and thoughts about the youth integration policies of the club. The good and the bad. We speculated about what could be improved upon, who should be given a chance, none of it was in the spirit of anti establishment/manager. Because at the end of the day it was all in good spirits and made with the best of intentions.

Nobody interpreted those posts any other way then, these lot have a strong enthuisiam for spurs that extends all the way to the academy. Not that we have some strange fetish to see our entire first team be made up of academy graduates.

Why does this passion existent, for me I always saw the academy as a way for us to close the gap to the big boys. By maximizing the talent that is already at the club. That's why when I see talents like Onomah, KWP, Edwards and TOB possibly going to waste because the club isnt acting in the best interst in regards to their development, I'm going to voice my frustrations.

I don't understand why all of sudden it is such a heinous crime to express this enthuisiams, and I'm sure @IGSpur shares in my confusion and that's what lead to the ott reaction. I really hope this post, helps heal this thread and returns it to it's glory days.

This post just killed me BC.:cry:

I'm so jumbled up inside on what I think might happen in regards to our RB situation next season, it seems I change my mind on every week on who should stay and who should go.

KWP playing at left back is good for him in the long run because it means he's an option for minutes on both sides of the defence

You or @spurs9 will be able to advise better, but didn't Redknapp once move Bale back to the left in one game, where fans sang 'he plays on the left'. I remember them singing but can't remember if then changed positions

Haha! Don't be ridiculous! Anyone telling Redknapp to do anything would have made him do the opposite. Think you're letting yourself down a bit here mate.
