Wembley didn't seem a problem today. Atmosphere was good and seemed to cope with the pitch. The problem was that Chelsea parked the bus and did it to perfection. Plus we had some key players off song

100% agree. The stadium wasn't the problem today. Play like that and we'll bury most teams.

If the team start to believe the hoodoo then it'll become a self-fulfilling prophecy. I like Poch saying this week that if Spurs lose it will be down to them and not the stadium. He really needs to drum that in.

Sorry oh salient one. Because we play in front of teams, and turning defences is how you beat the low block. Pretty obvious we're missing the pace of Walker and Rose in wide areas, if you think having 2 slow players there instead is working on the massive pitch than having fast players then good for you.

There's no need to get shitty about it and you can drop the strawman too.

So basically, you're saying that we could have won it but for the players not playing to their potential because Wembley...

I don't think there's much evidence for that. They didn't look inhibited in any way to me. Wanyama didn't look 100% sharp on his first start, we know Trippier can get caught out by a fast winger, Chelsea defended like mad for 75% of the game, we could have scored more as could they: in short, a normal decent game of football between two top sides at the start of the season. Just a shite result.

I agree on the shite result but that's twice we have outplayed Chelsea at Wembley recently and lost both games. I cannot help but be slightly worried.

We played well against Chelsea today and in the S/F. We played well against Monaco and Genk. Yet we didn't win any of them.

I don't think it's our attacking play which is a big issue. We would greatly benefit from a pacy forward who stretches the play but for the large part our passing and movement is fine.

Defensively we are more vulnerable. The pitch is bigger which even the slight difference means players have to get used to covering more yards and get conditioned for it. We will get better there with time.

However I have noticed with the high line we play, opponents are breaking away into open spaces too easily. Hopefully Sanchez who looks a great athlete will help nullify that.

I thought the stadium might have had an effect in todays result. Just before the goal I thought we looked like we were over chasing the win like it was a Cup game rather than a league game where a point against Chelsea would be an acceptable result. It looked like we lost a bit of discipline in that moment and we were punished for it.

I still don't believe the curse though. We just need to win a few games there and we'll soon forget about it.

I fought viciously and dominated up until the 2nd Chelsea goal n the 88th minute. If we had collapsed after Chelsea's 1st goal on 24th minute I might agree with you. So I have hope.

We dominated quite a few teams over the last couple of seasons at WHL and not taken anything away from them but came back stronger.

After todays results I am now worried about Wembley. I honestly can't think of a bad game we've played there yet all results go against us.

Really strange our performance levels are fantastic it's hard to understand the final results....Wembley like Anfield Stamford Bridge Emirates Old Trafford we mentally break down.

Stop worrying.

It's just one of those things.

Like Bale being called a jinx and being written off by a lot of people for not being in a winning side for months.

Apparently we've conceded 12 goals there from 15 shots on target. That seems a high proportion. Almost freakish.

My mate who went just messaged me: "Hour and a half to get there. Two and a half hours to get back - it takes an hour just to get to the tube because they filter you (necessarily, I realise) going back. Atmosphere is dead. The affordable seats are so high up it's like watching your favourite team of ants. I'm thinking I may give Spurs' season at Wembley a miss. Not a fun day out. (Obviously a good deal of my negativity here is due to us losing, but still...)"

It takes a smooth half an hour from Marylebone station to the stadium. It took me an equally smooth 1 hour and 15 minutes to reach Paddington station.

I agree, atmosphere was dead from after the first goal to the equaliser.

The affordable seats can in fact be exceptionally well placed. If you snag a ticket overlooking the midfield circle on the first or second row of the upper tier, you will have golden seats for an OK price.

Pending the CL draw, I'm thinking I won't be back until CL matches.
