One of the most impressive sporting achievements I've ever seen. Coming through the qualifiers, not dropping a set the whole tournament. Absolutely fantastic.
Sports personality of the year winner already done i reckon.

What an incredible final, Emma just had a little bit too much for Fernández but my god she fought every inch and the final scoreline doesn't really do the game justice!

This is such an incredible achievement, absolutely crazy. I can't believe how fearless she is in her hitting. She can just swat people aside!

I wouldn't be too hash on Fernandez too, she was very warm in the embrace at the net despite losing and she has a right to be upset, even if Emma did nothing wrong. Any disruption in tennis is very off-putting and to lose a Grand Slam final at such a young age can't be easy.

Incredible from both of them!

I'm scratching my head to think of a better individual performance from a British sportsperson, and I'm nearly 60.
To win this thing, and having to go through the qualifiers, is extraordinary.

Unbelievable guts, drive, focus and skill...and what's more she's going to get better in the next few years.
