Look, I can't help it if a few people show an interest in my testicles can I?

I guess it's all my fault though, after all, it was me who got the ball rolling

I'm sure every manager / coach we've had under DL has wanted players in early for pre season.

From what i saw in training Tuesday and at the game on Wednesday Poch appeared to be very happy with the squad. A couple of guys at the training At the Tuesday morning training session he was playing Dier beside Bentaleb (not a long term option i think) and Alli alongside (or in between) Carroll and Yedlin (that may not be a long term option) but at least he was as a whole trying to integrate ALL th squad from what i could see.

Funny thing was that at this altitude ( and it took me close to a year to begin to be able to run for any length of time) Bentaleb, Trippier and Alli showed not issue with training at this altitude. Harry, Verts and Walker were drinking water like it was going out of fashion. Quite interesting to see how supreme athletes cope.

Don't worry Levy will soon ration that as well.

It reminds me a bit of the Kermode and Mayo podcast - all that gunk at the beginning: readers' emails, WRIs, the cruise, the patting-oneself-on-the-back; I hate all that crap, but you put up with it for the interesting stuff in the middle.

How do you sell Adebayor and Soldado and buy 2 new strikers? You just sell Adebayor and Soldado and buy 2 new strikers.

Because the merits of Townsend (for instance) have been done to death in Spurs Chat ever since he broke into the side. Or Bentaleb, or Mason or………….How many times, in how many places should that all be said? There's threads for that. Use them. As for the last part of what i've quoted, again, just go to the players thread, how hard can it be?

When the ITK is quiet, by rights, so should this thread be. There are those who think this thread should be strictly ITK and strictly moderated, there are those who think it should be allowed to run rampant and there are those for whom there's an acceptable middle ground. We've tried moderating this thread in a variety of ways, from outright Nazi to stoned hippy and we've tried several formats over the years in an attempt to keep everyone happy.

But…….there's no way we can keep everyone happy, no matter what we do…..so where we are right now is at a point where we think we've struck an acceptable balance, taking bits of this and bits of that and (with a bit of cajoling and a few death threats) it all runs in the way we feel is as close as we can get to striking some sort of acceptable middle ground.

This thread is what it is, there are going to be times when it swings one way and times when it swings the other and times when I mount your mums.

Enjoy the ride. She did :p

I think the problem is there is less ITK today, than there was 10 years ago, today we have 3 or 4 ITK's, which means ITK discussion is limited.
General transfer info, related to a player linked, goes in a player thread but often gets derailed into formation, alternative players, for that position based on opinion, it's difficult to stop of topic discussion, maybe a general transfer thread is a idea, as that's basically what most threads turn into.

Just another victim of Harry's "I don't like the cut of his jib" style of management. At least our current manager seems to neglect players for legitimate reasons I spose.

I trust the new scouting setup to choose the right players, don't buy into this "proven PL experience" myth, as per Andy Carroll, Torres, Lambert, Balotelli, Robbie Keane and many more besides.....

I agree. It's not about his fit in the league, it's about his fit in the team. There are many more examples of players who have been quality at one team and garbage at another.

Like I said, we've tried all sorts and we've tried this before, it just creates confusion, what goes where, ooops wrong thread etc etc and people end up posting the same things not in one, but in two threads with the same conversations taking place.

The SC petition for Levy to re-hire Paul Kemsley starts here!

There are so many threads on this forum to debate the pros and cons about certain players.

Some of my fondest memories of this site are the silly nonsense that comes about during the transfer windows.

Who could forget Levy's wheelbarrow of money, the "wolf of wall street" gif of AVB et al when we thought we were signing David Villa or that stupid fucker who got banned, open a new account, posted something like "hey I'm new here" and then got IP tracked and butt raped by @Archibald&Crooks instantly.

They are little moments of joy that live with you through all the shit and I wouldn't change it for anything.

Edit: all this nostalgia got me remembering how much I love it here, £10 winging its way over to you.

Ha. That reminds me of some guy who was posting an opinion in the ITK thread that was extremely unpopular, then a new poster appeared and used his first post to say "I completely agree with that guy and the rest of you are idiots".

One of the mods quickly pointed out that both posters had the same IP address and that he'd be banned for having a duplicate account, only for him to claim it "must be my housemate upstairs" with his dying breath!

If there is no new itk in the ro probably best avoiding this thread to be fair as all you'll get is talk about A&c"s ball count.
Speaking of which, this Berahino thing still has me a bit caught up. Based on the people who spoke on the situation 5 or 6 days ago I would have bet my remaining good testicle that we'd have heard yesterday or today that he'd been in for his medical. Such an odd one

We don't do things quick normally, there is big money on the table and West Brom know they need to sell. We know that he wants to come so we are waiting for West Brom to buckle whilst they are hoping someone else comes in for him.

I'd wager that no-one else will bid for him.and we will get him but it's.not.going to.be easy.

Why wait until 10% of the season is gone before bringing in the players the manager wants? You wouldn't employ builders to build a house but not give them cement until a month in.

Because unless you are willing to overpay for players its very difficult to get deals done early in the window. Prices drop and players suddenly become available as we get nearer to the end of the window.

Ideally the transfer window would shut before the season started, but I guess there are too many countries in Europe with different start dates to their seasons to make that viable.
