Reeks of us chasing another unobtainable player and then leaving ourselves short of time to get a quality alternative in.

Soldado is leaving / abysmal. Chadli is not a striker and never will be. But yes I agree what will happen is we'll make do with a wide player up front on their own for large portions of the season, and it will be an unmitigated disaster.

Best we can hope for is a Mason Bentaleb double pivot when Ryan is back fit soon.

I think we'll struggle with these midfield targets if i'm honest. I think we will get one striker in though and my money would be on Timo being sealed in a couple of weeks.

I really hope i'm wrong about the midfield but I just can't see it and I think we'll eventually stick with what we have.

IMO, that's exactly what we should be doing if we can't get our top 2 targets.

Dont really feel comfortable signing both N'Jie and Werner. They're both very much unproven commodities. One of them and Berahino would be ideal.

Berahino, Werner and Bender/Kramer is my ideal set.

The thing that makes my wiener really twitch with excitement regardless of which CF/WF choice is PACE!!!!!

Personally I would prefer one of Njie and Werner alongside Berahino. At least we would know we have someone adapted to this league and who has played with Kane before. A lot of risk that the other two will settle and can score in the PL.

Did he even get close to saying that? No, he didn't. He talked about a possible meltdown next weekend, which is still three weeks before the window closes. Assuming HK doesn't get injured within the next week, we don't need cover for him in time for the United game.
