I'd massively prefer N'jie and Werner to spunking all our money on Berahino. We could get both for the same price and while they all have great potential 2 lottery tickets are better than one. My opinion would be different if I thought Berahino was clearly the best prospect of the 3 but i'm not convinced that is the case. Even if we don't get both we can use the money saved to put towards a quality DM.

Two good things are better than one good thing (y).

Saturdays are shit in here; everyone stays in bed too long and wakes up grumpy and hungover and all of a sudden all depressing itk is true, the positive stuff is unbelievable, and the world's going to shit in a handcart.

Worst of all though you can't help sharing with the rest of us. It's not enough to be miserable, we all need to be miserable too!!

How many days left of the transfer window?

Anyone know?

Because by the bitching in here, you'd think it closes in 10 minutes.
Lol. C'mon dude we have to put up with endless rambling tributes about how wonderful everything is. A little moan here and there when we're still waiting for a forward and a DM less than a week before the start of the season is only natural. ;)

Is it that you've just seen less of the other two than Berahino though? He's scored more goals in a tougher league, and has a fine record for the U21s. Yes, he may be too expensive, but as I said before, there is no guarantee that the other two will adapt to the PL. Werner was struggling last year in the Bundesliga, and Njie isn't nailed on for a starting place at Lyon. They are prospects, nothing more.

If both of Werner and N'jie are bought in eventually in this transfer window. It might means that MoPo and gang most probably see future for Coulthirst in the Club and willing to use Chadli as make shift Striker if need too (MoPo and Club willing to give Coulthirst another year or two to develop into Premiership striker). This is of coz, if Soldado is sold in this window. of coz, these my onions. Ade? I already take it that he is not part of the club whatever the outcomes, in this transfer window.

People saying Werner and n'jie are risks but we have to take them risks, isn't that the stage where we are, the players we want are top 4 targets or want to be there so we have to take a risk and hope they come good it's what we always do, berbatov , modric were both risks in their own right, sometimes they fail but it's what we have to do.

Personally I'd rather have berahino and one of the other two but can see why they would take the risk, just gotta have faith in poch and his scouts history of buying cheap risks and turning them into decent players

My preference would definitely be Berahino and one of Njie/Werner - preferably the latter.

One of Bender/Kramer,

Amazing window.

Think you summed it up perfectly we can get two for the price of one but the one is Prem proven.

Ffs poch has a track record with young n hungry players, not signed em yet and already wrists are being slit. The guy is paid to build a squad and these have been earmarked by him as what he wants. Is it a risk? Yes of course it is, was signing a proven continental striker who had been prolific abroad? Yes. It's all a risk. It's pochs call though as he will stand or fall based upon it.
As for the looming game, fucking hell we are underdogs whatever and whoever we sign, we are Tottenham not Barcelona. They have spent in the region of 200 million over the past 18 months so if they aren't favourites I would be gobsmacked. I view this game as nothing to lose whoever plays, new signing or not, why is everybody viewing this as a guaranteed 3 points IF we sign players x and y. Even with those signings it's a tough ask.
The season isn't gonna be decided at old Trafford.

Quit bleating (goat excluded you can bleat to yer hearts content you furry little fucker)

Anyone doubts what Pochettino can do with a player who is willing to learn only has to look at the improvement in Rose last season.

We need a mixture of experience and kids, and not say Kane (one recognised striker) and 2 high risk players with potential. There's a massive difference between say Kane and Berahino who have both scored a load of goals in the premiership but are still very young and classed as potential... with say Werner (4 goals or so to his name and spent most of last season on the bench) and N'Jie who was used as an impact sub. Neither player has played regular 1st team football. It's a massive gamble signing both of them and if Kane gets injured and they don't live up to the hype, we're royally screwed. We need Berahino and Werner OR N'Jie.

I don't understand all this pessimism regarding our possible targets!!

As far as I'm aware Mitchell was brought in to identify players to fit Poch's system.

Surely if we are going for N'jie and Werner it's because they fill that description.
Maybe Berahino is too expensive or not quite as good a fit so is behind the other 2.

Why employ a man to do a job and then not go with what he ID's?

Just out of interest... Are you a betting man? If so do you always bet on the favourite?

Just asking:D

There will be 12 weeks between the closing of 1 window and the opening of the next. Not really screwed imo.
