Apparently Walker should be fit in Mid-September. I think Poch would have said something if the injury was that bad. We'll see.

I just hope no one takes the Walker stuff as gospel. Please don't forget to add salt. Imagine what this place will be like if everyone thinks Walker is perma-crocked.

Very true.

There was iTK last season that was certain Kaboul was 100% finished and would retire this summer due to injury. Obviously turned out false

Hopefully same issue here

but that kid Dier is scoring in each game from the right - that will be 38 goals come the end of the season.
I kinda think something's up with Walker otherwise we'd hear that Naughton is up for sale

Quite the extrapolation there after two games. I will happily eat my own dick with a knife and fork if that happens, and then we can sell him to Madrid for another world record fee anyways!

I hope @rebrab is right about Walker and perhaps Ali Z has just come across some bad info. Would be a massive blow to lose him to a chronic injury. And weren't there rumours of Naughton being up for sale not too long ago? Even if Dier and Kaboul can cover at RB, I can't see us going into the season without Naughton and having a perma-crocked Walker as our only specialist RB.

on walker:I can't tell you why, put it this way it's something that he is going to live with for the rest of his life.FACT - he wanted to rest it, Tim talked him into playing, Walks should have put his foot down but for any faults he may have he is a team player at the time we had a few really bad results so he played.
HIs injury has not improved through rest as it should have, i can't say too much on the subject but trust me an op on this and we could have a King situation.
medical team tell he should not play, told you all this at the time and walks tell's Tim he is struggling, Tim pressured him till injury got too bad.

on andros/ms: We will only sell if they do.

(lets hope ali is wrong again regarding walker)

Seems to me that a major portion of the blame here should rest with the physios. Isn't it their job to keep the players as fit as possible and provide proper advice? Big fail here for the physios if they've permitted this to happen.

Physios/medical staff don't have a choice in the matter, they just make recommendations, then it is between the player and the manager.

A good example is the medical staff told AVB to take Lloris off when he was concussed and their advise was ignored.

I think Bentalab is a promising youngster but I don't think we should get carried away by yesterdays game. QPR gave us so much time and space we could get the ball forward easily.
In Lamela and Eriksen we have two advanced players with the skill, vision and intelligence to pass and carve openings well, but the key to unlocking them is getting the ball forward to them quickly and accurately
Bentalab is more a safe passer, he looks for the easy pass and generally opts for the safer pass. We aren't likely to encounter too many midfields as generous as QPR's who never pressed or harried all game. We need a partner to Capoue with the ability to see and play the passes to our attackers early and accurately
Personally I'd prefer a more playmaker type but Schneiderlin has a good balance of strengths and always looks to get the ball forward when he sees opportunity
We shouldn't let a game against a very generous midfield blind us into thinking it will be so easy in other games or we have enough strengths in our squad at this time to ignore the strengthening still needed

I like Bentaleb, but I do agree with you. I still don't think we have a central midfield capable of controlling games, and I completely agree with you that we still don't have a distributor who can efficiently and consistently transition the ball to our talented forward players.

But yes, believing our midfield to be sorted after that performance would be like fancying yourself a lumberjack after leveling a daisy.

Dim's judgement on everything else was poor so no reason to suppose it wasn't here. He would sacrifice Walker's career to further his own.

I trained, and am good friends with a Physio from another premier league team. The pressure from management to play against their advice sometimes is frightening.

That is bad news about Walker, if Tim's involvement is 100% accurate that is beyond terrible, I really hope it's not a career ruining injury and he recovers quickly.

My guess would be that Walker is somewhere in between the two extremes. I don't really think he'll be playing any time soon, but I don't think his career is threatened either. The interesting question is once back, will he be as fast as before? Because his pace has so far made up for other short comings. What if his pace was no longer as prominent?

I like Ali Z and I do believe he posts his itk on good faith - but if he posted anything else, we'd be taking it with a whole ton of salt. No reason to think this Walker stuff is any different, even if it does make Tim look bad.

I also don't believe for one second that Tim had that much power at the club, surely the other coaches, physios as well as DL etc... wouldn't allow Tim to do whatever he wanted against medical advice. FFS Tim was interim manager, they could have fired him at any given second if they wanted to, it wasn't like he had years of managerial success behind him to take into consideration.

If this was true and Sherwood ignored medical advice, resulting in a career threatening injury, he'd actually be able to sue Sherwood for tens of millions of pounds.

Yes it was me. To cover myself I could have said 'maybe retire' at the end of last season. But I was told his career definitely over and he'll give up the game. So that's what I passed on.

Do you know something more about his current physical condition? Did he completely overcome his injury troubles?
