I remember when we beat Newcastle 5-0. We expected to finish top 3, Harry to go to England. There was talk of Mourinho to lead us in the Champions League, Hazard was all over us.....

Seems like a long time ago. I'm a bit worried about this Willian chap - doesn't look too good. We need drive and creativity in the middle of the park. Dembele would be nice, the type of player we should be chasing, not the pipe dreams.

It's just our luck that FC Abrahmovich pulled off the most unlikely Champions League win ever. Imagine if they hadn't done that, where would we be now?

Welcome to the nightmare. No Mourinho, no Hazard, no CL. Modric going no direct replacement coming in.

To me that's what it comes down to. This is all Bayern Munich's fault. They blew that game more than Chelsea won it.

Im very aware that my opinion means nought when it comes to signings but if we where to sell modric for £35 Mil then I dont see too much of a better way to spend it then on Dembele and Fellaini together!! I know we already have other player in the position Fellaini would play, such as VDV and Sig but they could rival Lennon and fellaini and to have a team of .........

-----------------Brad------------------
Walker-----Kaboom---Verts----BAE
------------Sandro-------------------
-----------------Dembele------------
-----------Fellaini--------------------
VDV----------------------------Bale
-----------------Ade-----------------

and with a bench including Gallas, Chalker, Lennon, Parker, Sig, Defoe (id love to say Damiao) I mean That would be lovely!! and I doubt the Expense would be much more than Modric would bring in. Thats not including Damiao in that!!

Looking into this thread after a shitty movie isn't uplifting at all...
Chelsea, ManC and Redknapp in their quick-fix damn-the-consequenses approach have given us a lot of annoying crybabies as supporters.

The three mentioned are responsible for much of the difficult situation we're in; Chelsea and ManC cheating their way up the ladder and Redknapp for diarrhea-shitting CL-spot 2 seasons in a row.

I despite Modric for his behavior, but you crybabies aren't much better.

Chalker? lol but yes I think Fellaini and Dembele are the 2 stand out midfielders in the Prem that aren't already at one of the "top clubs."

What's funny is people tend to think of Fellaini and Dembele as sort of attacking midfielders, but that's not really where they excel - they are both more of central or defensive midfielders. Fellaini provides great threat in the box on corners though and Dembele is a fantastic dribbler so maybe people that's why so many people want to analyze their attacking stats but that's not what we should be looking at.

A midfield of Sandro, Fellaini, and Dembele would be fucking solid as a brick wall defensively but for starting games we would probably want to have Sigurdsson or VDV in there IMO.

I rate Nani, and he'd be a big improvement on the RW imo, but I'd rather leave Anderson behind.

It's also our fault. It should never have come down to relying on Bayern.

People are ignoring the very difficult reality that these clubs we are looking to buy from are not going to be mugged for their top players by Daniel Levy. Shaktar, Porto, and Malaga are all Champions League teams. Their fanbases will not accept selling off their best players at the last minute for cut-rate deals on Levy's terms. Fulham, with Dempsey surely leaving, also isn't going to sell Dembele for anything under 20 million pounds.

Either Levy is willing to push the boat out financially to land our targets, or we will have to settle for players several tiers below the ones we have been linked with. Or, perhaps our squad will remain as is, and we will just have to trust that whatever money comes in for Modric, is reinvested properly in the team at some point in the future.

And who's fault is that? If we cannot afford top dollar. What is the point of wasting our time chasing the Falcoa's Llorrentes of this world?

If all we can get is Dembele or Fellani, sign them up, get them in, and give ourselves a chance.

I completely agree with your sentiment. I merely wanted to point out the fallacy of the idea that we can save millions, while landing our targets, if we only wait until the 11th hour.

In fact, it's possible that teams will smell our desperation this week and demand even more money than they would have a month ago, which will probably leave us with no incoming transfers.

First of all, had a few beers so going with hammered optimicity( hoping a word, iPhone didn't correct).

Either levy knows exactly what he's going with transfers or he's fucked it up royaly. Personally I'll give him til the end of the week but,

No second striker
No modric replacement
No wf option

Scares the fuck out of me.

However, I will take a year out of the top 4 if it sets us up for a really fucking good challenge for next year.

COYS! Keep the fucking faith!

Edit - just realised how much I swore in that.. Swearing is bad mmmkay!
