That's interesting - I think the club seem to agree with you. But I would have thought some midfield presence to shield our defence would be the priority followed by a striker. Both essential in a way, but you might argue that both Son and N'jie (and even Chadli?) could offer an option up front. I can imagine if Harry Kane is having a rough night that Pochettino might move Chadli into the centre with Son / N'jie on the flanks/inside forward 433 sort of role (or vice versa).

However I do hope that simply signing Alderweireld isn't the proposed solution for the simply terrible defensive record we had last season. I wonder what it might have been like had we not had the best keeper in the Prem... 53 goals in I thought was our main problem, not the number of goals we scored.

United have Hernandez and Rooney and are looking at Austin apparently. Arsenal have Wellbeck and Giroud plus Walcott, Chelsea, Costa, Falcao and Remy, Liverpool ings benteke origin I could go on. We have Kane, chadli is not a striker and neither are the others and I cannot see them being effective their. If we don't sign a striker I would be AMAZED and seriously worried about the decision making. I cannot for a second think the club are not going to address it.

My contract says my hours are 9:30am to 5:30pm. I don't get paid overtime. I reckon I've worked those hours about 4 times in 4 years. I usually leave between 9pm and 10pm, with the occasional 2am for bants and lolz.

Striker is the absolute must do, no defensive midfielder would be disappointing, but to leave us with only one actual recognised striker with Kane already looking a bit jaded after little rest in the summer, would be horrifying.

We still have time!

They are both extremely important. But numbers wise striker is an absolute 100% must, so that has to be the priority but I will be disappointed personally if we do not strengthen the midfield too.

I reckon we can make around £30m through getting shut of Lennon, Lamela and Fazio and Ade's wages could be off the bill as well so providing the outgoings go to plan there isn't much excuse not to get both in.

I also think Townsend should be expendable now we have pace as it would be a quick way to raise £12-15m for a player that probably won't feature a great deal for us.

If Hernandez go they'll buy a striker for sure, and they've actually got the lad Wilson as well. We have one striker in our squad and not even anyone in the youth ready to step up yet was my point. Hernandez will score boat loads for Leverkusen if that's correct

Exactly, Kane is 22, being forced to play every game because there is no choice could risk his career too, look at Owen and Pato, never same players again because they played too much when young, i really fear for Kane if we dont sign a striker

22 is not 18. Yes he will have the ups and downs in form that come with youth but his body is fully developed - he's not playing in his teens like Owen and Pato.
