Is this fella any good? What posistion does he play? Admittedly I have not seen him play this year much. That includes the UCL games against ourselves, is he the same chap that Rose said was a nightmare to play against?

Thanks all...Happy Friday...COYS

He scored twice against us and he was a handful, good enough for me :D

Quick wide player with a good football brain, great in transition (as most of the Monaco team are) and a great crosser of the ball from his left foot. 21 year old French International. 14 goals, 14 assists in all comps for Monaco.

Would be an incredible signing due to the above, but the above also suggests it would be really difficult for us to get him.

Cynical Me: It means he's laughing at us. Or, it means Sidibe, the shittier player of the two, is joining us and is trying to convince Lemar it's a good idea to do the same.

Optimistic Me: Lemar is signing for us. Praise Baby Jesus and Kevin from The Leftovers.

+1 for The Leftovers shout out.

Fantastic show.

Yes good potentially very good, plays AM played against us on the left when we played at Wembley, he is not the guy who gave Rose a nightmare that was Mane but he was the second most difficult player we faced that game after Bernardo Silva. He came on after a injury if I remember correctly then preceded to be a right pain in the backside.

Would be a top top signing if it happened.
...and scored the second I believe. Bakayoko (sp?) got injured in an aerial dual. I remarked in the game thread at the time that it was unfortunate for us because Bakayoko is pants and Lemar was coming on. He was good against us 2 years ago as well.

Bernardo Silva 70m, Mendy 40m. Lemar will cost something between those 2 values. I just don't see us spending that kind of money

Bernardo Silva was £43m
Plus add-ons.

That being said though I think it's perfectly possible that we'll splash out for one big signing. With the money we'll bring in for Walker, Sissoko, Bentaleb/Fazio/Njie, and possibly Wimmer and GKN, not to mention the explosion in TV revenue that the whole league has experienced, we'll be able to afford it without a significant net spend.

We can afford to spend 50m on a player, but I don't see Levy doing it. Our record nowadays is 30m right? Breaking our record by almost double the money? I just don't see it

Monaco seem to be happy with performance related fees, you'd think that's something Levy would be interested in too.

Go big on this one as it's the first XI priority.
Pick up a Veltman/Ginter for a relatively small fee (£8-15m).
Sessegnon would be a high potential signing which we've been told in the past are accounted on separately.
Keep Lamela or use the income from his sale towards buying a Barkley or Seri.

Could all be done for a decent enough net spend really if Walker goes for big ££££.

Can see this getting done after we shift sissoko back to France, with all the outgoings we can easily afford the 45m ish price tag monaco will probably want. Just depends if any of the big boys like the look of him too.

He'd also take us to the next level and would fluidly slot in with Eriksen/Sonny/Alli

Up until we sold Bale our record transfer was in the 15m range. We wound up breaking that record three times in one window, doubling it twice. A massive influx of revenue changed what we were able and willing to spend.

If we bring in 50m for Walker, 25m for the three loanees, 15-20m for Sissoko, and 20m for Wimmer/GKN we're not just going to sit on our hands and chuck the money toward the stadium. Pochettino will demand that it is reinvested in the squad.

Agreed, and this time we certainly don't need 7 players this time. As always the issues will be competition (largely on wages).
