lol you are understandably bias though!

Problem is we have seen time and time again that the team that pays the most wages wins out in situations like these. Remember the season we beat Man City to a CL place? It is well know we targeted both Gareth Barry and Roque Santa Cruz *shudder* but they still moved to City because of wages.

As a fan it can be hard for us to understand but to a footballer it's a career and in the majority of cases they will choose the option that maximises their earnings.
Totally bias. Unfortunately (finances) have to agree with you.

If I was him and had a choice, CL aside. I would want to go to the more progressive side, and where there seems to be a strong team ethos, along above all else, the manager. I would want to watch what happens to Sanchez, and any other key players. You have to bear in mind that the vibes within the game would have you believe there is not a nice place to be at present.

The turmoil within Arsenal might not be an advantage for us. Lemar would likely be the clubs fulcrum if Sanchez and Ozil leaves. We can't offer the same kind of assurances.

But let's not kid ourself, it will be wages and fee that sees us lose this one.

Batshit as well.... so it's a tough sell with only CL.

And Gareth Barry is spurs through and through supposedly as his whole family are ST holders.

I can't see how wages would be a massive factor, isn't he on peanuts for a footballer? He'd be getting a huge pay rise wherever he goes

To quote Bruce Willis' character from Lucky Number Slevin, "...and more money is worth more to me than less money."

Weren't those players 27 or so though? I take your point, but much like the way a player's transfer value grows up until 26 to 28, so too does his wage earning ability.

Any player moving around that age will want the best dollar they can get, as they are at the peak of their earning potential. Hence it is more understandable that Walker wants out, and people worry about Toby, but we're all quite relaxed about Dele Alli.

With Lemar, he's got a good three years of developing before he even needs to think about any of that stuff. And the likelihood of his getting to the highest earning potential possible is better with Poch than with almost any coach in Europe. He's going to get a wage hike anyway... I think we're in with a real shout if we'll pay the fee.

COYS.
