I don't see us getting this one over the line personally, but after a brief chat this morning I'm told this one isn't just paper talk.
Hopefully Poch can convince him..... and maybe we can throw in Sissoko

I don't think it's even a case of managers convincing players these days. Not like when Clough or Venables would turn up at their house and turn on the charm, not leaving til they signed. Unless you pay the wages, you don't even get to break bread with the player.Hopefully Poch can convince him..... and maybe we can throw in Sissoko
When we signed Eriksen it was allowed to happen because the player himself didn't want go for just the money. He wanted to part of the first team every week and not just be another mercenary (like at Man City)
If we're going to sign players like Lemar then we need them to have the same attitude as Eriksen or we've got no chance of signing them.

Apparently there's only 9 other clubs in the world that "simply have more money than us" so I tend to share your frustration, mate! I really think it's time to bury the myth that we don't have the finances to attract a top young talent like Lemar, and really make a statement of intent this summer. We're a Champions League club; let's look to recruit like one.I know it's not our 'fault' because other clubs simply have more money than us but the fact we rarely sign our top targets really bugs me.
Wasn't that club valuation, rather than how much money they can spend on players.Apparently there's only 9 other clubs in the world that "simply have more money than us" so I tend to share your frustration, mate! Happens every year no? I'm more surprised you can still see themSo many amateur accountants on this site who claim to know more about our finances than Daniel Levy, amazing.
well the good news is JJ hasn't shot this link down
yet
he definitely looked a talent in our 2 matches

Are you claiming there isn't any sort if correlation between the two? And why do you always sneer at anyone who dares to suggest that we spend decent money on a player that might improve us? We're not some impoverished club, and going balls-out for a talent like Lemar really isn't going to bankrupt us. We're a Champions League Club, and I'd love to see us show some real intent in the transfer market this summer. Why is that so provocative to you?Valuation of club does not equal spending power.

We're spending £800 million on a new stadium so our spending power is hardly emasculated, is it? But you're right; I'll calm my tits mate!Calm your tits, all I said was valuation of the club does not equal spending power.
But the financial profile of the club is such that we have the power to spend £800 million on a new stadium so his inference that our spending power is limited doesn't really stand up to scrutiny does it?Of course there is somewhat of a correlation but tiger666 is absolutely correct in the sense that the valuation of a club is not equal to spending power
