Agreed. We need that balance and the right plaform to get the best out of Bale. I think we are seeing more and more of the right structure of late.

Sometimes too mank cooks can spoil the broth - like you say VDV, Modric and Bale wanting to roam last season etc and it looked disjointed at times.

Building the team around to getting the best out of Bale is what AVB is doing - so collectively we are stronger and can get Bale hurting the opposition more.

Most of the time tbh. It was fucking awesome for one night at Carrow Road though - by far our best performance of last season.

Yeah agree with that, Halfway through the 2nd half the Norwich midfield gave up chasing the ball and their heads dropped because every time they had the ball they'd get hunted down by Sandro and Parker and every time we did have the ball they'd get passed to death by Modric and Rafa, top performance

I thought Chelsea were guaranteed to win almost everything when they appointed him.

I thought we were taking a big risk with him, seeing him as not being able to quickly shake off the negative treatment he'd had. That was amplified by not bringing in players he wanted and the repetition of late goals costing us frequently.

You have to say Golden Bales is a major factor between around 6th and today.

Yeah Bale is the difference from us sitting sixth to where we are now.

That being said, this is the most defensively sound Spurs team I can recall. That has to be put down to AVB. We had the yips early on in the season and he has rectified that.

Attacking flair will not win the league. Last season proved that.
