He is a big Zagreb fan and thinks Jedvaj could be worth more than that.

Understood and I agree, sympathize, and share his view.

However, small correction. He's not a big Zagreb fan, he's a big Dinamo fan. Dinamo Zagreb, but there's another club in Croatia that goes by Zagreb. When referring to the club, it's always just Dinamo.

No big deal and I obviously know what you mean, but I notice it often like that in the media as well.

No point crying over spilt milk, and let's remember that he's just a very good prospect, like Dorian Dervite was when we signed him.

Yup seems like its through. Shame, would have loved to see again a countrymen at Spurs, hope I dont have to wait too long. At the same time Lazio just announced that they signed Hajduk Splits version of Jedvaj, Josip Elez, who like Jedvaj hasnt played much in his debut season but impressed.

Reports: Roma Beat Tottenham To Tin Jedvaj Signing

Roma look to have sealed the €5m signing of Tin Jedvaj from Dinamo Zagreb after the teenager underwent a medical on Wednesday afternoon.
Jedvaj, a 17-year-old central defender, has been on the Giallorossi's radar for some time, and Dinamo confirmed last month that they had held talks with Roma about a potential deal.

At that time the two clubs could not agree a fee as Dinamo held out for around €10m, and it appeared that Tottenham and Arsenal would compete for the Croatian's signature instead.

However Wednesday brought the news that Roma and Dinamo were continuing negotiations, as Sky Sport journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported the Croatian side's president Zagabria Mamic was at Trigoria to conclude a deal worth €5m plus 20% of Jedvaj's sell-on fee.

Sky Sport also claimed that Jedvaj had rejected a move to Tottenham on Tuesday evening, and the 17-year-old arrived at the Campus Bio Medico on Wednesday evening to undergo the second part of his medical. According to Ansa, Jedvaj had already done the first part of his medical at the Policlinico Gemelli earlier in the day.

Although the signing has not yet been announced officially, it appears that, like Mehdi Benatia, Jedvaj is to all intents and purposes now a Roma player. Given that Croatia have also now joined the EU, the Under-19 international will not affect Roma's quota of non-EU signings.

Some reports from Croatia saying the fee is 6m euros (plus % of future transfer). And he will be moving to Roma immediately, not staying with Dinamo (as was supposedly going to be the case with his proposed move to Spurs).

Edit: Latest is 6m euros + 25% of any future transfer.

Isn't that about €10m less than we were apparently quoted, again? Presumably this was something that Baldini had in the pipeline for Roma and then attempted to hijack the deal for us? Ah well...

No. This is for Jedvaj. The package Jedvaj-Halilovic to Spurs deal was supposedly broken up this way: Jedvaj 5m + Haliovic 15m euros (20m euros in total).

bit of a come down after the story initially broke. Cant help feel we were used as a pawn in this mamic's game plan. Really disappointed by this as we need a hot central defender prospect in the academy.

Just because he went to Roma does not mean the ITK were wrong, no one ever said it was confirmed/definite, in fact I think a few said it was unlikely and the fact he went to the club who showed all the initial interest is no real surprise. We may have missed the chance this time, maybe we did not get Baldini in time to nail these two transfers ?

It would have probably been about 4 years till we actually saw him start, that's if everything went well.

We have more pressing concerns at the moment.
