I was behind that pass, it goes to the left where Cloback then diverts it a yard to the right into Kane's path. If Colback hadn't touched it Kane wouldn't have got it, or it certainly wouldn't have put him through he would have had to chase it wider.

In the replay townsend looks like he passed it in to the middle of the gap, granted he didn't have to run as much to the left, but he still would of got it

I suppose if he had his time back again he would have diverted it slightly the other way to have avoided that unfortunate deflection.

No, he was putting in a cross. However, it's the same concept as a shot that's going wide being diverted into the net by an opposition player.

I don't think it is, actually. I think he smart passed. Just like Harry Kane's goal against Villa that took a deflection.

Chadli back on top alone in the league after his assist against Burnley.
Lamela scored so after 17 league games he is our seventh goal scorer in this competition.
Mason adds an assist and Kane of course another goal.

Kane and Eriksen add another goal, Chadli his third league assist. Nothing new but as long as it works I am fine.

18 games gone and still our CM has not scored a single league goal.

I don't think that is a major issue, look at Chelsea

They have only one goal from CM all season.

Ramires got one but he was playing AM and same for Cesc Fabregas against Stoke

Sorry if this had already been asked but is there anywhere I can see a table of who has assisted the assister? I always think they're underrated when it comes to stats, eg Lamela's pass today was at least as important (and certainly better) than Chadli's cross for the goal.

IMO:-

Kane should count as an assist for the penalty.

Chadli should count as an assist for Rose's goal

@carpediem991 - Maybe Kane should get the assist for the 3rd goal vs Chelsea because he won it...? On the Fantasy Premier League website it says he got 2 assists

Agree with those saying Kane should get the assist for the pen. He gets it on FF and, if you think about it logically, Kane creates the chance from which the goal was scored. Also, I love seeing his minutes per goal/assist keep getting smaller
