It all seemed so perfect. Two nil up with 10 minutes to go, so-called superstar Harry Kane kept in his box and the Hammers all set to wipe out the memories of that horrific performance at West Brom.

Lads never gave up. One thing that is very obvious this season over any other in recent memory is the teams work ethic. Though we did not play well on Sunday we did not appear to give up.

All the accusations of "luck" miss the point that, despite playing very badly in midfield for the majority of the game, we still made >20 attempts on goal to West Ham's <10. The fact that a scuffed shot finally went in should not detract from the one off the post, the ones directly at the goalkeeper and the ones just over the bar. It's reminiscent of the people here who always blame the Spurs attacker for our misses and blame the Spurs defender for the opposition's misses.

I just really, really, REALLY like the fact they're taking this draw much, much worse than they did the defeat on the first day of the season.

Imagining Big Sam walking round his house in a huff, not looking his wife in the eyes, lying in bed unable to sleep at 4am, staring at the ceiling knowing, not thinking, KNOWING, they fucked it up, all by themselves despite creating countless chances, KNOWING that once we dropped into proper gear for the last 10 minutes we mauled them, scored a total fluke which his own keeper could have saved if not for his inexplicable need to have a wee jump on the spot... and then to win a penalty with 4 seconds (SECONDS like, count them, 1...2...3...4) to go - which their keeper initially saved.

Love it. Almost better than a win.
