Does anyone know if there's a way to download videos from Spursplay?

Going to chance it here and suggest you check out The Game Is About Glory...full disclosure, I am a host. We're in our 4th season, started during lockdown, and stridently look to avoid pointy-shouty in favour of discussion and humour where we can find it. Unafraid on the bigger topics but again, we strive to steer clear of full-on shouty. Hope nobody minds the shameless plug, but we've built up a loyal following, enjoy doing it greatly, and I think a couple of you might enjoy it too...the rest of you will likely think, "Why did I listen to that silly old clam!!!!"

Was literally going to go in this thread to give you guys a shoutout. Good to see that you are a regular here!

Agree with your self-description above and would add that you have good ‘radio voices’ which is key.

Looking forward to hear Milo’s new Son chant in the stands this season haha.

Started listening to the view from the lane. I'm sure I'm very late to the party but last 2 episodes were really a great listen. Very balanced informative views without agendas

I’ve narrowed it down to VFTL with Danny Kelly I don’t mind him at all, also from an Irish background and has been through the exact same time frame with Spurs as my dad, he watched Greaves when he was a little lad and then in the late 70s Ricky, Ossie and then Hoddle, Waddle, Gazza. I don’t agree with everything he says but very listenable. Also remember him in his GLR / BBC Radio London days when I was little.

Also Gold and Guest are a good go to as well.

I’ve had to narrow down the Spurs podcasts as a lot of them have been too much for one’s tolerance levels.

LWOS has lost its way and unfortunately has gone stale: perhaps the season we’ve had has got to them but for me it’s far too long with many going off on tangents and extended monologues that seem endless.

Agree although haven't listened to the gold podcast. The 90 minute round up he does that I listen to x 1.5 speed is enough gold for me

Still don't mind extra inch. It does go off track a bit but is relatively funny with some decent tactical insight

The fighting cock I also try to catch. That one is the most light hearted of the 3

I’ve only started listening to it over the last few episodes and I think it’s great, and totally agree about the balanced views without agendas.

Danny Kelly is brilliant IMO. Yes he does sometimes slip into his talksport self & go slightly overboard with some items as if he's trying to go fishing for angry calls but he is very knowledgeable and passionate about spurs. They take a very balanced view of the most divisive issues like Levy etc
I really look forward to the pod twice a week moreso than any other pods I regularly listen to

I'm down to three: Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham, The Tottenham Way and The View From The Lane.

I had to give up on the Last Word On Spurs as it's just too juvenile. Might ditch The View From The Lane too if Danny Kelly keeps up with the silly rants.

I've been enjoying this, thank you!! I think your pod is one of the best one's for fan perspectives IMO so keep up the good work!

We've talked about it so much, not sure why I feel the need to say it, but there are definitely "groupings" or categories of podcasts. You have Gold and Guest, the Tottenham Way, and View From the Lane which all have journalists and IMO are all very good listens.

Then you have the fan driven ones like The Fighting Cock, the Extra Inch, LWOS, Rule the Roost, The Game is About Glory, etc. which are all "good" listens (depending upon your tastes) in different ways for whatever you're looking for. They tend to involve different personalities or topics of discussions or viewpoints that you may gravitate towards more.

I thought I would give Last Word on Spurs a go this week but they can barely string a sentence together. Hardly a brain cell between them

The View From The Lane is the only thing worth listening to, for me.

I don't really do podcasts in general, I know they're wildly popular with a lot of people but I don't have much time to listen to them myself, though I have found the odd one interesting on non-football subjects.

And no offence meant to anyone involved in one, or a fan of one or more, but the idea of a Spurs "fan podcast" is like a living nightmare to me. I wouldn't want to listen to a table full of nobodies talking about Spurs down the pub, why on Earth would I want to listen to them doing a podcast? It's no different to SpursTV or Chris Cowlin or any of these other fan broadcasts - absolutely zero interest, they add nothing to my support of the club.

"Oh good, let's listen to a bunch of people I wouldn't want to talk to in real life, with shittier opinions than me!". Nah, you're alright.

TVFTL is actual Spurs-supporting football journalists, who actually know something about the game, and have inciteful information and opinions to hand. It's also quite funny. Danny Kelly has vast experience and the rotating line-up are consistently entertaining. They're a great reflection of informed opinion and level headed sense, like you might get from about 0.1% of fans, combined with the articulation of the fact that they actually have to be able to speak and write properly for a living.

And the less said about Last Word on Spurs the better - I genuinely cannot stand it's collection of know-nothing, squeaky-voiced Twitter figureheads. Tried it twice, hated every minute of it both times.

It used to be great, and I still really like the host. He's the only one on that show who hasn't developed a massive ego - just comes across as a really earnest, decent bloke who does a good job of trying to bring the rest of them along as they compete to make one-liners

Cheese Room is always good. Spurs plus Dave is one I've got in to recently

I like The Tottenham Way - three or four football journalists/Tottenham supporters. As I get older, deafer, and, because I listen to podcasts at night, I really appreciate good diction and clarity. Second only to VFTL for me.

Just moved back to North London from the States. When I was there I started working through some of the podcasts because I was missing Spurs. The regular ones I was left with were VFTL and The Fighting Cock.

Honestly, I love TFC. It was just what I wanted at the time because it was just like being down the pub with mates…but it’s more than that. Sure it can be crude as fuck, but it’s also deceptively thoughtful, intelligent and incisive at times. The fact that they’ve kept it going at such a high level for so long is really impressive. Long may it continue.

VFTL is obviously the other side of football podcasts, but I think they’ve nailed it too, it’s instructive that I’ve heard Newcastle fans talk about how terrible their Athletic podcast is, and a couple sometimes listen to the Spurs one just because it’s really good.

I’ve tried a few others. Any specific recommendations? Gold and Guest seemed OK - might add that one in. Not sure if it’s worth having more than three though 😀

Only Danny Kelly and James Maw are Spurs supporters.

Jack Pitt-Brooke is a Man City fan, Tim Spiers is Wolves, and Charlie Eccleshare is a gooner. In my opinion, it's having those unbiased viewpoints that help to make it a really good pod.

Yeah I know I meant the regulars really, and JPB has admitted he's probably more of a Spurs fan these days than a City one. But you're absolutely right, it's the neutral approach contrasted with the Spurs fans which makes it interesting.

CE is a gooner?? I’ve listened to the pod for a couple of years and hadn’t realized that. I guess I should have listened more carefully.
