Paratici's signings so far ain't a bad XI. Go back to the 30s and play a W-M formation with this lot.

Forster
Romero Lenglet(probably)
Emerson Sarr Bissouma Bentancur Perisic
Kulusevski Richarlison Gil

Here's what we have as far as I can tell:

GK x 3: Lloris, Forster (association trained), Austin (club trained)

Defence x 13: Davies (homegrown PL only), Dier, Doherty (homegrown PL only), Lenglet, Lyons-Foster (club trained), Perisic, Romero, Royal, Sanchez, Sessesgnon (association trained), Spence (association trained), Tanganga (club trained)

Midfield x 5: Bentancur, Bissouma, Hojbjerg, Matar Sarr, Skipp (club trained)

Forwards x 6: Gil (counts as Under 21 in PL only), Kane (club trained), Kulusevski, Moura, Richarlison, Son

I make that a squad of 26 of whom 5 (Kane, Austin, Lyons-Foster, Tanganga, Skipp) are club trained and 3 (Forster, Sessegnon and Spence) are association trained for UEFA purposes.

We're unlikely to register Lyons-Foster over senior players, he's 21 so included for completeness.

Under 21s like Devine and White who've been with us for more than 3 years after turning 15 don't need to be registered for CL (UEFA refers to this as the B list). Any player who's under 21 like Gil or Matar Sarr doesn't need to be registered for PL matches.

*

To put it another way (blue for new signings, purple for players likely to leave permanently/on loan, orange for players that may move):

Club Trained - No minimum, up to 5 available
Brandon Austin
Brooklyn Lyons-Foster
Japhet Tanganga
Oliver Skipp
Harry Kane

Association Trained - No minimum, up to 3 available
Fraser Forster
Ryan Sessegnon
Djed Spence

Foreign Trained - no more than 17 in PL or Europe, currently 14 PL + 2x under 21s/18 Europe
Hugo Lloris
Ben Davies (homegrown in PL but not in Europe)
Eric Dier
Matt Doherty (homegrown in PL but not in Europe)
Clement Lenglet
Ivan Perisic

Cristian Romero
Emerson Royal
Davinson Sanchez
Rodrigo Bentancur
Yves Bissouma
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg
Pape Matar Sarr (under 21 PL only)
Bryan Gil (under 21 in PL only)
Dejan Kulusevski
Lucas Moura
Richarlison
Son Heung-Min

Under 21 players like Alfie Devine and Harvey White who came through the Spurs youth system don't need to be registered for PL or CL matches.

Left summer 2022
Pierluigi Gollini (loan ended)
Cameron Carter-Vickers (permanent move to Celtic)
Steven Bergwijn (permanent move to Ajax)
Jack Clarke (permanent move to Sunderland)
Troy Parrott (season loan to Preston North End)
Dane Scarlett (season loan to Portsmouth)
Joe Rodon (season loan to Renne)
Giovani Lo Celso (season loan to Vilarreal)
Destiny Udogie (signed from/season loan back to Udinese)
Tanguy Ndombele (season loan to Napoli)
Sergio Reguilon (season loan to Atletico Madrid)
Harry Winks (season loan to Sampdoria)
Marcel Lavinier (free transfer to Swindon)

*

Just reading a thread on Twitter saying that Lavinier and Lyons-Foster can be called into the first team squad and named as locally trained players if needs be.

So could end up Winks + Tanganga + Clarke out and Spence (?) and Lavinier or Lyons-Foster in. If no other HG players are signed. Don’t know if anyone else with a better understanding of the rules than me can confirm that.

Good catch, both born December 2000 so don't class as U21 players going forward. Assuming they're kept around this season, they would have to be registered with the first team. Lyons-Foster is club-trained, Lavinier was in the Chelsea academy so is association trained.

I wonder if we'll be on the lookout for HG options. Must be hard to find some of sufficient quality or value. Feels like the best place to add an additional quality without troubling the non-HG quota.

McNeil feels like a strong potential one. Jack Harrison at Leeds too. Could be forward cover and potential WB cover.

James Justin at Leicester would be an option? Plays Right and Left back.

Based on Uefa Rules
List A players, Non Club Trained (CT) & Non Associated Trained (AT) shall be 17 Quota Max
CT shall be at least 4 from 8 place of CT/AT Quota

Our squad should be

GK
1 Lloris (N1)
2 Foster (AT1)
3 Austin (CT1)

LCB, RCB, CCB
4 Romero (N2)
5 Dier (N3)
6 Davies (N4)
7 Lenglet? (N5)
8 Other LCB/ CCB (Bremer/ Torres)?? (N6)
9 Sanchez (N7)

WBR
10 Doherty (N8)
11 Spence (AT2)

WBL
12 Perisic (N9)
13 Sess (AT3)

MC
14 Hojbjerg (N10)
15 Bissouma (N11)
16 Bentancur (N12)
17 Skipp (CT2)

AM/WF/FC
18 Kane (CT3)
19 Son (N13)
20 Kulu (N14)
21 Richarlison (N15)
22 Lucas (N16)
23 new Creative AM? (N17)

Assume New Creative CM/AM should be non AT quota unless we buy Maddisson or Gordon will be got (AT4) quota
that mean we have extra place for (N17) quota for some players like Matar Sarr or Reggy or Royal??

Also Assume we decided to keep Sanchez instead of Tanganga (CT4) but if we decided to keep Tanganga to be No. 6th CB we can have extra place for non CT/AT quota too.

Football.London explains that the Premier League allows no more than 17 overseas players can be named as part of the 25-man squad, and Tottenham now have exactly 17.

But that does include a few we know we want to shift

Makes you wonder if the Spence transfer does fail, would we maybe have a foreign option for RWB and look at a HG midfielder maybe like Maddison

I think once we move on a few of those we expect to, things won't look as bad.

Agree.

There are 7 players who could get moved on

Ndombele, Lo Celso, Emerson, Sanchez, Reguilon, Bergwijn and Moura

I can't see the first 2 being here next season, so 2 free spots in the PL squad.

Also Gil if he stays or goes on loan

Will be interesting to see how Devine does in pre season. We could just keep him with the squad as a home grown rather than pay over the odds on another.

Forster’s penalty record is pretty remarkable, which might come to good use in cup competitions this year.

Forster has 16 penalties saved and 28 penalties non saved in his career (36% saved) whilst Lloris has 16 penalties saved and 90 penalties non saved (15%) all according to Transfermarkt.

Maddison, Gordon, McNeil, Barnes, Harrison. Some decent HG players around.
Yes, decent players, with giant price tags - that’s the issue.

Idiotic that we didn’t pull the trigger for the likes of Olise and/or Bowen.

In the absence of good HG first team players available, I think we should try to either give a chance to some of our kids or pad the squad out with good youngsters from elsewhere - there’s got to be some around that we can get.

Otherwise we risk paying over the odds. The English premium really isn’t very helpful to anyone

Waiting for us to have a Kepa-Caballero substitution moment with Lloris and Forster

Our real issue is with our CL squad, in which Davies, Rodin and Doherty no longer count as HG. Makes me wonder if we should just stump up what Gibson wants for Spence as our HG quota is becoming a bit of a problem.
