We weren't playing badly until the goal, were generally dominating the game, trying to pass our way, but it got worse after they scored. On the balance of play Villa don't deserve to be winning, but Benteke is causing us problems that we are not dealing with very well.

Something has got to change though. Pochettino needs to accept this 4231 and the players he's putting in it isn't the optimal set up.

We've been poor ever since the West Ham game....tinkered with the team and hooked Dembele at half time, rightly, but no need to remove him all together.

Its just been down hill ever since....and fortunate wins against Swansea, QPR and Leicester clouded this a bit, but we've been poor for 6 weeks at least now.

Must have missed it but I haven't seen anyone calling for him to be sacked

The main concern for everyone is that we haven't looked great at all this season bar the Chelsea and Arsenal game. I think a large majority of fans were expecting a 5th-7th placed finish and would accept it as long as we showed promise in our performances. It's fair to say a lot of performances haven't been up to scratch and we're lucky to even be in the hunt for top 6 considering the amount of late winners which papered over the ever-increasing cracks in our performances earlier on in the season.

We haven't pushed on at all from January and February and look further and further away from the supposed Poch Philosophy we was supposed to be seeing. I see very little evidence of this high press, suffocating the opponents and scoring as a result of a great system.

Pochs performances are as much up for discussion as our players, whats wrong with criticising him. He knows, and the majority of us fans know that the pressure is going to be even higher next season when he gets to sign more of his own players and has another pre-season to work with the existing ones.

I have said this before but fight, desire, and the will to win isn't instilled by a coach. It can be ignited by a coach, but not instilled. Players either have the innate desire or not. Some of our players are clearly pansies with little desire to strive for greatness.

I said at the end of January our season would gradually fade away to dust as usual. Not because of Poch, but because of the very average players he`s been given to work with. Is it reasonable to start asking questions of Mr Levy and Mr Lewis yet ? Or is this still out of bounds ?

Because we have a manager that's about as inspiring as Steve Davis catching 40 winks who has no plan B or even a clue how to rotate a tied squad.

I'm not happy with the performances by a long shot but Poch is the manager and deserves the benefit of the doubt. We know the bulk of our squad is horseshit and has been for a long time.

I really want this at some point in the 2nd half (although it will never happen with Poch as this constitutes a plan B).

Everyone's favourite pantomime villain, the man ridiculed mercilessly on here is almost certainly walking away with all three points and the last laugh.

So? Have I hit my head at some point this year and just imagined all of the games we have lost?

Haha, you're probably right, but one striker up against three CBs is never going to work. Soldado doesn't have to score, he just needs to be there and drag defenders away.
yu're right we need Soldado as he creates space and can actually pass

Yedlin's gotta come on at some point surely, and Lamela. I'd say Dembele as well but he's not a sub.
