Disagree. Points mean prizes, and we'll be gelling to a greater or lesser degree over the entire remainder of the season in any case. A dominating performance and 0 points is not an outcome I would deem "ok".

I did say winning would obviously be best, but in football (unlike certain other sports) randomness plays a big part, so it's possible to play the other team off the park, but for every one of your shots to hit a player or a post or whatever, and for them to get one lucky deflection and win. Over the course of season those things will usually even themselves out, with the result that the best teams win over all. For this reason a poor, weak performance would be worrying, even if we won, because it would suggest fragility, signifying that in the end we'd be below the best, whereas a good, strong performance, even if we lost, would be reassuring because it would suggest we have the quality.

For an example of what I mean see Liverpool's performance against Swansea, in which they did well do avoid a loss, Rodgers came out and said it was good because it showed grit. Bullshit, it showed fragility, and lo, the next match they displayed the same and got beat at home by Southampton. Liverpool supporters I'm sure would have taken a decent performance against Swansea even if they lost, because it would have meant the team was good and they'd be likely to beat teams like Southampton in the future.

Ahh, can hardly handle my excitement and it's not even 11 yet!!!! I think I am going to try distract myself for the next hour with some good old GTA 5 otherwise I will just sit here watching this thread, waiting for the team sheet... After all this anticipation it's probably going to be a bore draw as well.

Doing exactly the same mate! Just doing the mission with trevor where you have to land the plane on his airfield! Keep crashing!

But if we play Siggy and Lamela then play is going to be too congested in the middle of the park - we need Townsend if nothing else but to try and pin Cole back and to create a wide outlet that can be direct and stretch the Chelsea defence to create space.

We do need someone to get in behind Cole and stop him from contributing going forward.

I just don't want to see Siggy in a game like this; feel he won't be up to the task.

Lloris

Walker - Kaboul - Vertonghen - Rose
Sandro
Dembele - Paulinho
Lamela ----------------- Eriksen
Soldado
This is what I'm expecting today. Maybe swap Kaboul for Dawson since he has more match fitness. This is gonna be one of those games where we see AVB lining up more of a defensive lineup than he usually does. We are going to be happy to grab a point from this one and to be fair so am I.

Siggy starts IMO, he played no part against Villa so it points to him starting, same with Townsend, Soldado.

Strong bench as expected and I feel we'll need to dip into it sooner rather than later if we are going to win this.

By the law of averages, Townsend should score today if he keeps shooting ;)

Really wanted Holtby to start, what more can he do?! :(

Holtby must be sitting there thinking da faq I have to do to get a start.

Can't believe Rose didn't even make the bench. '90% chance' - Clearly bullshit from AVB.
