It had slowly passed me by that we haven't won since the city game and would start to be a problem if we didn't win today.

Our next 3 games are very tough and could genuinely go either way. If we don't get 8 points from the next 4 we could start to lag behind our rivals. Nothing but a win will do today

0-0 the most likely score unless Leicester nick one like they did last season. They're good bus parkers in their day which is our kryptonite as we all know...

My worry is that despite having the joint best defence in Europe (I think), it's ultimately goals that win games. It's no coincidence that the top 4 scorers in the league are currently occupying the top 4 places

The old football adage was goals win games defences win titles, currently our defence is good enough to win titles but cant score enough to win games imo.

I'm going to predict 0-0 or 0-1 but we desperately need a convincing win. Not so confident about our attacking play at the moment but let's hope we can turn it around for the huge game midweek.

Is it just me or has the painstakingly crafted banner image at the top of @chrissivad 's opening posts in these threads been failing to display for the past few weeks and with only the text "IMG" appearing.

EDIT - spooky, now not even all of what I'm typing is appearing as a displayed post. Halloween must be upon us.

I thought it was my ageing PC! Displaying again now though.

I do worry about this game. They have started to score a few goals lately and we can't score from open play. If we continue with the same set up I don't see us scoring and can see us losing this 1 or 2 nil. Unfortunately Poch doesn't seem to have a plan B when things are going wrong.

May be too much to ask but in all our games this season we've scored 3 times in the first half an hour and 2 of those were against Middlesbrough. That really is a shocking statistic.

With the type of game we play I'd expect us to be hounding the opposition from the off and creating/scoring chances a lot earlier than we do, if nothing else to allow us to let up slightly. Any team can't continue to press as we do for 80 minutes in every game searching for the first goal.

That's gonna lead to frustration and burn out in the long run. An early goal gives us so much more scope to have 5/10 mins to recover as we are so good in possession.

Thats what the scousers do they swarm over you early and get the early goal or two, the difference being is we can defend it out with confidence they cant.

Not really that shocking when our approach leans heavily on the fitness of our own players, wearing the opposition down and tiring them out, it's almost inevitable that most of our goals will come later on in games.
