I bloody hope so.

It is not like expecting much this season, but I am tired of seeing the same brain dead players consistently having brain farts.

I was happy with today's team, I was happy... Okay, I would have picked Sandro over Bentaleb, but that is a moot point. Apart from Dier, new and a CB playing out of position, I was happy, then same players doing the same old shit, after I put my faith in them again and let myself build my hopes up just a little bit...

Nothing wrong with pooch at all and I think his style of football is suited to this club, but the players need a serious upgrade and he needs to be given time.

I really think we need to release players the likes of Ade, Towsend, Kaboul, Dembele, Ade, Rose (Maybe), Fryers, Lennon....

Shit just realised... better not let SK see this post :cautious:
I agree with some of them, but it is no point in releasing players if we don't get exciting replacements in.

I am simply just telling the truth. For some that might sound harsh, but it is the reality. No more talking between the lines. I say it straight as it is.

And I got banned for disliking a post in the ITK forum.

Way to keep it balanced SC admins!

If you want to win a World Cup, you better have more white/latino players than anything else.
Not if you compose the team right. That is the main problem for managers. Belgium and France have the opportunity to field only black players on the field. They are not selecting the right players. If they just knew how much potenial they have. They don't realize it. In the world cup for example. France selected Debuchy instead of Sagna. Belgium did not select Marseille striker Michy and did not play Origi and Lukaku up front together. So many errors in team selections by managers at top level.

And Germany and Spain are explained how?

After having time to let the match settle in my head a bit I'm not really too disappointed. I just accept that Liverpool are a better team than us at present and we're in a stage of development, but I think we are still better than most other teams in the league even as we are now. The struggle now is getting to the level in which we can challenge these bigger teams or at least make it difficult for them which struggled to do. It's early days though under Poch and as long as we see good improvement I think I'll be happy come the end of the season (or at least I say that now).

My thoughts exactly. Liverpool have had an unprecedented rise from a club in turmoil to title challengers.
Unfortunately seeing a direct rival achieve what we have spent the last ten years trying to achieve in 1 1/2 seasons it's a kick in the teeth.
I think we will likely finish between 7th and 5th in the league this season. But we will still win more games then we lose. Pochettino's job this season is to ensure the games we win are won in a similar vain as the QPR game.
And to avoid getting thumped when we lose.
Put a decent cup run together and we will be fine.

We missed two effectively one on one chances at 1-0 down. Errors and a very soft penalty stopped us gaining any momentum. Over the course of the game Liverpool were very worthy winners but in truth everything went their way today so it was pretty straight forward for them.

I agree.
Also I think our defence collectively got its self in a muddle today with Kaboul being the chief culprit.

I am suggesting it is MoPo's fault.
We have a fantastic squad. MoPo has selected the right team and the right system so far-but he got it massively wrong today.
If we get stuffed again it will be his fault.

Don't get me wrong the manager has to carry some blame, much like his predecessors AVB and Tim Sherwood, but we have a load of mediocre players at this club and that needs addressed in the next few transfer windows.
However, the manager also has to be a lot more flexible in his game plans,we are simply too predictable if we carry on playing 4-2-3-1 against every opponent.

This is why I can't understand why so many of youngsters that did so well during preseason are no where to be seen.

I was really impressed with them, where are they, they filled me with hope.

Instead it went back to the same old players, doing the same old mistakes.

I will add Bentaleb is not ready yet I feel, cups and bench for now, consistently making big big mistakes almost every game.
Sooooo...Bentaleb, with the most experience of the youngsters, is not ready, but we should have used more youngsters.o_O

Hopefully they all go this window.
But still..MoPo has to improve.

I have a man crush on Pochettino, and think he is the best man for this job. But, part of the loss today has to go on coaching - we were not prepared to deal with their pressure, and man-defense.

Understandable in my mind, because to this point we have focused on improving defensively, and on our own press - but it was pretty obvious we had too many players who were not prepared to deal with their press, including Lloris, who could not figure out how to distribute the ball when they were covering man on man.

That will come in time.

Not for the first time I was annoyed by Lloris' poor passing.

New Manager, same problems

I was happy with the team Poch sendt out
but Bentaleb has to speed up hes passing, you never knows where he will send the ball

the penalty was harsh, but Dier shall not do stuff like that, he gave Allen a reason to dive

The biggest issue from today is that we are not strong enough mentally.

It's bad that I decided to stay asleep rather than get up to watch the game but I was quite sure we'd probably be beaten. Said after west ham that we still have last seasons mentality. An easy win over a terrible QPR sent this place a bit over the top at times.

It's gonna take till maybe jan before we actually see the results of poch's work
