Not surprised by Defoe starting, Ade looked a bit rusty last week, not quite match fit. Good chance for Siggy to shine!

Can understand Dembele decision if he is still feeling his way into the set up but surely Ade can start by now? Defoe on his own, can see a similar pattern to last week. Just hope we take some of our chances this time, or Bassong doesn't have the obligatory blinder and sets a few up for us.......

AVB said Dembele picked up a knock vs Man Utd.

Just hope Shift n Shoot has learned what a near post run is.

In fairness, the one I can understand is Dembele despite his performance last week. After all he has never kicked a single ball with this team, but Christ on a stick Defoe?? DEFOE??????

not REALLY happy as dembele ruined norwich first game of the season so would have been nice to start him livermore & sandro offer no creativity so we are asking an awful lot of sigurdsson but whats done is done lets just enjoy the game.

Fancy Lennon to score & gylfi with a rocket and maybe a goal we are not expecting

big test for vertonghen personally wouldnt have started gallas as he will struggle vs holt if he starts he will bully this back four

also think walker needs to buck his ideas up been poor all pre season and the first few games

Ade is not match fit, Dembele has not had a chance to train with the squad. Sensible decisions. More worried about centreback - this would have been just the game for Dawson.

Interesting to see Thudd brought back into the fold; a consequence I am guessing of the failure to sign Moutinho.

So you'd think a home tie against Norwich would be a good place to start.

It's not exactly City at the Etihad is it?

Subs: Cudicini, Naughton, Caulker, Huddlestone, Dembele, Townsend & Adebayor

Only Dembele

Totally different Fulham team without Dembele. compare their performance today to the one at Old Trafford.

Should be interesting seeing him today.

It really is frustrating that of 6 of our summer signings, only 2 will have started league games by the 2 week of September - a month after the season started! Need this sorted once and for all next season.

I assume :

1 AVB got too involved in transfer market, so easier to continue with the same team as last weak
2 Ade still a bit rusty, diplomatic to continue with Defoe after new contract
3 Newcomers such as Dembele still being introduced to other squad members style of play.

Hopefully changes made both during this game and for next first team game

Ade must be really short of match fitness as there is no other logical explanation for leaving him out but we really need some big performances from our 'star' players and make sure we punish Norwich when we are on top, which hopefully will be for the majority of the 90 minutes.

Let's not make Livermore the scapegoat - where will we either win or lose the game is our attacking players so they need to perform.

Not inspirational, but we should give AVB a chance to prove himself whatever lineup he picks. That said, not choosing your best players is a tremendous risk and puts huge pressure on a manager - fans can turn really quickly when the lineup is obviously wrong IF it's not performing.

stop playing 1 up top when that 1 is defoe, AVB sort your shit out, another home game and another shocking starting lineup, pissed off with AVB already

why the f88k rate my post dumb you muppets, can't you see its such a negative setup to play at home against a average side, no need for 2 dcm's, not going to put my blinkers on.

I understand your reasoning but Dembele has been training with the squad since he signed.
