Soldado's injured and Ade is a doubt. I fully expect us to start with Harry Kane alone up front.
Jesus.
Even he can't save us now.
(joke)

Defeatist much? Since when has 2-0 after 25 mins ever been game over?
Fair enough but how many teams in World football would you put a bet on to win after being 2-0 down?
I guarantee Spurs wouldn't be one of them.

As bill nick once said we are nothing if we are not in Europe nothing and that is why we should always aim to be in as many competions as possible that is what big clubs do.
Did Liverpool even make any important signings in the summer?
Why should 'making important signings' be a prerequisite for improvement? This is such a common fallacy. They stuck together, they retained their best players and they continued to learn their manager's system. That made them better.
It's called stability. We could usefully emulate it.
My comment was in response to Sherwood's notion that there is a 'technical gulf' between the sides.
If they have the same players as last year (when we were better than them, and beat them) then how can there all of a sudden be a technical gulf when there wasn't one before?
The gulf isn't technical, it's tactical. Amongst other reasons, including stability as you said.
*rolls eyes*
Bill Nick said that when being in Europe meant something. The UEFA Cup is now the Europa League where the failing Champions League teams get rewarded for failing.
No one values this competition which is apparent by how we have been treating it over recent seasons.

Liverpool, who actually have a less deep squad than we have, in other words, there is a bigger gap in quality between their notional first 11 and their bench, have also been extraordinarily fortunate with injuries this season - they've basically lost no key players at all for any meaningful periods, whereas we have had enforced rotation in defence, midfield and attack throughout the season.
It's a different kettle of badgers next year though due to the (albeit small) chance of Champions League qualification.
"Blimey this football lark's fun, maybe I should be a manager."I suspect this is what TS was thinking to himself as he sat in the stands watching on like a neutral...
I really think they need to do away with the indescribably pointless group stages for certain teams though.
David I agree but not on the injury front.
For a start they had Suarez missing for the first seven games. Sturridge was out for about 6-8 weeks which included over the busy festive period. They've had Lucas out and Enrique, their best LB, out nearly all season. Agger has been out for long stretches as well. Pretty sure Coutinho was out for a stretch as well.
Maybe not as bad as our injuries but they've had their fair share to contend with, like most Clubs.
