Stupid thing to say, winning games by the skin of your teeth may be entertaining, but that doesn't make you a good side. The 3-3 between WBA and Cardiff was entertaining, would us drawing 3-3 at home to Cardiff make us a good team...I think not. Your statement about Everton being beaten is basically factually incorrect and implying a ridiculous unrealistic standard as they have lost fewer game than any other team in the league this season, including those above them...also who has "tonked" them this season? Liverpool once, is the only one that springs to mind. They are four points ahead of us with a game in hand despite having an overall inferior group of players and smaller squad.

You should look at your posts when considering stupidity. Southampton aren't Cardiff. And we beat Cardiff under Sherwood. So I'm not sure what you're getting at. The argument was that we hadn't played well outside of three dominant performances, and in response I'm suggesting (a) we did play well outside of those games and (b) you can't realistically expect to be dominant for the whole of every game.

As for Everton, how do you measure inferiority? By price tag or wages? And they are having a great season, but aren't a million miles away from us. Is that point a difficult one to take in?

Really? You'd even go that far?! Well hang my hat... give me a moment to get my pulse back to normal!

I'm curious though - since you were probably one of the malcontents asking for AVB's dismissal - (forgive me if I'm wrong on that)... either way- what will it take before you make the call that Sherwood isn't the right guy for us?

I agreed with AVB's sacking, but didn't spring to that conclusion when we hired him. Or even in his first season with us. But he made me discontent with how we played, which wasn't acceptable.

I'd give Sherwood up to the time AVB was given. So 18 months, before deciding to replace him. Maybe less - til next Christmas maybe if things went backwards at the first 15 games of next season. And the metrics to evaluate him are to play attacking footy, continue winning against 'lesser' sides, and compete much better against 'bigger' ones. He's done items one and two to a certain extent so those would have to continue. He's doing much better than AVB on the entertainment front.

If we get a new manager, the same criteria will apply. You'd hope things wouldn't be so grim as to warrant a sacking with 6 months, but certainly over 18 months you'd be hoping for an exciting attacking team that keeps us up around 6th or better.

I can't even remember the game it was so long ago. Did we win or something? Wasn't Timmy still in charge then?
