“A top player plays in every position, and it's not a problem for a top player. Top players they play in every position, top players they don't get excuses about the system, the position, the way the team plays. Top players they play in every team, in every system, with every coach.”

That last bit sounds like another jab at Dele to me.

Luka Modrić won Ballon'Dor and he is world class when he plays in CM, good at AMC but much worse than in his natural position and mediocore in LW position. Play Kane as GK and he is suddenly worst player on the planet. Players should give 100% effort even when played in wrong position or when playing for a coach they don't like, but coaches can't expect amazing performances if they use players poorly. And both players and team do better when everyone plays their best position.

I think the point Jose is making is that a midfielder should be capable of playing anywhere in the middle, be it holding DM, sat right in the middle, attacking or temporarily wide, even if it's just for one or two matches. Unfortunately Dele wants game time, but there are players who are more consistent taking his natural spot and, when he gets picked and isn't in his favourite role, he doesn't contribute enough. Then blames it on "the system"

I actually don’t think fitting Ings in is that difficult. Ndombele was basically playing in a front 2 with Kane, Son wide left and Bergwijn wide right. However, if Ndombele stays deeper and Mourinho trusts him without needing three centre backs behind him, then there’s a vacancy for a Kane strike partner.

Ings would score 25-30 goals a season if he stays fit and plays in a team with Ndombele, Kane, Son and Bergwijn / Neto. The guy is an absolutely leather finisher.

Not the best source but would love this to happen. Feel that Ings could play as a lone striker, alongside Kane and even in a front 3 with Kane and Son.

Interestingly there was one or two ITK's in the summer saying we were interested in Ings. Would seem harsh on Vinicius because I think he's actually done well whenever called upon, and delivered when he has had minutes.

Though we do need to be ruthless and if we could get Ings for a reasonable fee (much lower than Vini's agreed option price) it would represent very good business.

BRING THE INGS!

Serious deal to be made here with Ings having a year left on his contract this summer, just like Hojbjerg last summer.

There’s few players I’d rather see us sign than Danny Ings. Him, Kane and Son in the same team would be absolutely lethal — 3 top finishers.

How does this work ? Given his injury record and our record with injured players, would it cancel out due to some long overdue karma owed to us? I think Ings is good player but i'm concerned we would rarely get to see him play for us, given our luck with injuries.

Heart says sign Ings as he's a brilliant player but head says we don't need another injury prone player in a key position.

What happened to the Sergio Ramos rumours, seem to have died down?

I think he'd be an excellent addition.

Harsh as it may be I’d take Ings and not take up the purchase option on Vinnie. Ings is PL ready ( and quality ), and having 1 year left on his contract should be cheaper than Vinnie.
