Hi all ,

I am planning to attend the Stoke game for 20:00 kick-off but am concerned about travel back from Tottenham at that time of night - What's it like getting back?.Any sugesstions as to the best route ? I would normally get a bus back home but don't fancy waiting around too long...

It depends where you live. The high road is often shut for a couple hundred yards going south, so tube or train is best. It's a twenty minute walk to Seven Sisters, the Vic Line runs until Midnight and there are usually enough trains from White Hart Lane going to Liverpool Street. It's not too bad really.

Or walk up to Nothumberland Park which goes straight through to Liv St via Tottenham Hale (Vic Line) and sometimes terminates at Stratford.

Thanks for the replies ,

It was more the area that time of night as oppose to the travel itself , as I'll be going on my own.

You should be fine. It's not exactly a nice area, but there will be about 30,000 other yids making their way home too so unless you plan on staying around the ground for a while after the game before you head home you'll be fine.

PS If you get stabbed / mugged or worse it's not my fault Eek

No it's a fine area. I have been there when there hasn't been a game at I think it's fine. I think I remember SS57 saying he has never had any problems living there. It gets a bad rap, and things like that despicable, truly sickening incident with that 16yrl old girl don't help but it has always struck me as a diverse and working class area, but not especially dangerous especially on match days where there a loads of people and cops.

Yeah I just read about that 16 year old girl being raped and abused in Haringley. Eek

I thought it was Wood Green, anyway that was not an incident that happened to someone at random, I believe the girl was known to the scumbags and they were known to her. Can't believe they've got sentences that wont keep them inside for good.

Shell you'll be ok just make sure you have your route all sorted out and stick to it, same as anywhere else really.

Six years a few got? Anyway, I wouldn't worry at all mate. The best route if you are worried is to WH Lane station, it's the nearest, there are always coppers there and the trains are frequent.

I would bring an AK-47 just to be safe, or you could always take something larger like an RPG. Depends what you got.

There are also plenty of buses that run up and down the high road. I often jump on a bus to Kings Cross to get home, it's slower but a little more comfortable and there's no queueing involved.

And it's plenty safe, especially with 36 thousand fans milling about. I recommend a burger from the colonel opposite the Paxton end too.
