ffs he plays predominantly as part of a front 2 usually lying that bit deeper than the target man striker.
He doesnt play CM, ACM, LW, RW AND fuck knows what SS is. He is no different to Keane in terms of the roles he plays and I wouldnt call Keane a utility player

Predominantly? I predominantly piss but I am capable of having a shit now and again.

Google if you don't believe me there are plenty of links out there explaining why i'm right.

And there are hundreds more. If you don't believe them them then check out the chalkboards on The Grauniad or the formations on other sites. Just watching him now and again shows how flexible his movement is.

p.s. SS = second striker. I.e. someone who supports a striker, playing between him and midfield. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Striker#Second_striker

So where would you play him, Lil' Jim? RB?

So why would you replace a poacher like Bent with Tuncay? Why not replace Gomes with Lennon?

If Boro had had Bent ahead of Tuncay this season they'd probably be comfortably mid-table by now.

Why these suggestions that he could play RM or LM for us? Has anyone actually seen him play there for Boro? No, you haven't. Because he doesn't.

Maybe he is a good player but we must aim higher. Why do we need another squad player from relegated team? Hardly CL material.
We had Berbatov year ago...

I really like Tuncay. He reminds me of Ivica Olic (neither are good finishers), only with more skill. He works really hard and is quick. I think he'd be a really good signing.

keano is manure bound. my intuition has informed me this is why ferguson is prepared to let tevez go. manure have to spend wisely, need to start buying replacements for the golden oldies giggs and scholes etc and probably cant afford tevez. step in keano who can instantly link with a certain bulgarian. lets face it, since his return keano has resembled a bag of brannagans ham n mustard crisps, smells fucking great, but inside theres nothing, just a few crumbs. the magic has gone. tuncay could be keanos replacement, then we just need to replace bent, and frontline options could start to look decent again

i know keane has been poor for a few weeks, but i have a bad feeling that we'd discover tuncay isn't that great of a replacement if he did go - then again, perhaps he'd do better in a better team.

boro fans don't really rate him that highly since he has a tendency, like kranjcar, to do flashy stuff that gets on MOTD but has little end product most of the time. boro don't really have a bad team and they do create chances (downing has the most crosses into the box so far), so it's ominous that they're the lowest scorers in England (could blame alves though). that said he's still been voted their best player this year (not saying much, but downing has done even worse).

If he signs, he would be a Malbranque kind of signing: very good player, maybe not world class, but still a great addition to the squad who will def put a lot of pressure on Keane to perform.

Headless chicken with no real end product

Would have him as someone to come off the bench for 20 mins if we are a goal down but I don't think he is good enough for the first team with the players we already have

yeah you're right. that must be it. Keane has been poor for Liverpool and for us this season but Fergie still wants him to replace Scholes, a midfield player who is already to be replaced by Anderson and has been made a 2nd choice by Fletcher this season.

I agree wholeheartedly.

According to most of you on here, we dont need to sign anyone because our team is so good, unless its Kaka or Messi.. forget it!
People seem to forget we were fighting relegation not long ago! Now you seen a bit of light you think we can attract the world!

I don't know why people are getting ripped for suggesting that Tuncay can play In a number of positions. This season he has predominantly played on the right of midfield or on the right in a 4/5/1 off a central striker with the freedom to drift in, and as a second striker. He's also played four games this season in central midfield.

Funnily enough Tugay is more the type of player we need, but too old.

I dont have a problem with Tuncay himself. He's a decent player and would suit a mid-table side. If he came to Spurs, he'd be a squad player and nothing more. But i just dont think he's the type of player we need. I dont want to see more than 4 senior players signed in the summer. We've nearly got our squad sorted for the new season. Tuncay represents exactly what we dont need. More squad players in a position that is already covered for.

I think most struggle to envisage what Tuncay would actually do in ou team. He's not prolific enough to replace a striker, not better than Lennon or Modric for the wings and not better than Jenas or Palacios in midfield.
