As in, an achievement to get overly emotional/jealous about.

Arsenal winning the league would have been a totally difference kettle of fish but i'm really not going to be feeling inadequate over West Ham lifting the Conference League sorry.

Like I said, i'd rather they lost obviously but is what it is.

Yeah ok, fair.

To be honest my annoyance isn’t at West Ham winning a trophy, my annoyance is at our club thinking they are above these competitions because they think making up the numbers in the champions league is a better achievement.

West Ham just won a trophy that we haven’t even been good enough to qualify for next season.

Sorry, not a dig at you but appreciate I latched on to your post.

Just, someone sort out fucking club out man, please.

Haha they will constantly sing champions of Europe you'll never sing that to us for years and years to come until we happen to win one

Well done to them, they wanted it more and you could tell that all season. They seemed determined to win it.

Wish our players had the same attitude in a cup competition but there we go.

Another team in Europe next season…..we really need to hit the ground running in the league and try and make it to our advantage that we will only have 1 game a week.

What is that perspective? Genuinely?

Regardless of people’s thoughts on the ECL, it’s a European trophy that you have to go through numerous rounds to win. Regardless of the opposition they’ve still won a trophy.

What perspective do we take? “They win the ECL but we think we’re above it despite never winning anything”.
I think someone should edit our wiki page and remove the Cup Winner's Cup from our honours list.

It means nothing.

Worse than arsenal winning the league.

Dunno about that, but it’s bad. Surprised I haven’t heard my neighbours going bat shit….. going to have to avoid them for the next 6 months. Unfortunately I can’t avoid my mates for that long.

First things first , it's a trophy . I get that they'll rightly milk it . We don't have much of a comeback.

Secondly, I maintain that we'd have the piss taken out of us if we went wild with winning it. No ones changing my mind there.
We have the piss taken out of us anyway. Had we won this or the EL and maybe a league cup as well in the last 15 years, I'd certainly feel better about things though.

On an actual plus point, looking at their league form balanced against this… Europa league is harder, so there’s a chance they end up battling relegation next year if they don’t have much in the way of a transfer window.

Again I said this last year and got a load of disagrees. I think it's a mentality thing but I'd cringe a little if I saw these celebrations for us for a 3rd tier competition that only existed to allow the really shit teams to play in Europe
3rd tier competition we've failed to qualify for and when we did got dumped out in the group stage.
