Spoke to my mate who knows nothing about English football. He's a Fenerbahce supporter and even he said to me you have signed Arda! Asked him is it really true? He replied YES the Fener fans are making up a song about Gala losing their captain.

He texted me it was radyospor, on his way to work. He discussed it at work with some of his work mates and apparently whole turkey knows about it... i cant believe if really smth like a deal was announced how none of the media here got hold of that... well i guess we will see in the next couple of hours

haha and i think Fener fans should be more worried about gala fans coming up with a song about fener losing the championship the last day of the season

Obviously have no idea who this guy is, but the amount of detail in his post and the date from which he posted does make me think that these rumours have not just come about in the past couple of days.

I'll give some information..
Arda scored 10 goals in 30 games..And around 15 assists in those games.
I have watched Gio..I think he will be great signing for us..Mr.Rijkaard wants to sell Arda and buy Gio..But the president of our club,He is do not wanna buy Gio and sell Arda..
Arda has a new girlfriend..She`s actrist..I don't think she wants to move England..Because shes working in Turkish TV's..And of course Arda would not be leaving his GF alone..
I think Arda will stay in our club even 1 year more.

Arda is great player..He said He does not want to move for now..But maybe for next years,He want to join Liverpool..Because color of Liverpool is "red" as same as color of GalataSaray..And He loves Liverpool Fan..

One person in that thread doesn't know who Turan is. It also has something to do with you identifying him as "Arda" and not "Arda Turan". Most people know of Turan from his Euro 2008 run.

Indeed. And while we all make fun of FM fantasies on here. The games do give people an idea of what young players are highly rated. So I'd say 50% of the board knows that Turan is a young player of note without the Euros.

Whether any of us know how well he will transition to England, how we would really fit into our side, and how much upside he truly has is the questionable part.

Thats a direct quote, and my colleague is an official of said club so I 'assume' he must mean either or, but it is a cert that 19th we are finalising with him is my take on it. Lets hope all goes well.
