Levy wants it to be part of the world cup bid because......... he can demand a hell of a lot more ££££££££'s for the naming rights to a stadium that will be in the Worlds spot light for a few weeks.

Although stadiums won't be referred to as the sponsor's name during the World Cup, so whilst it would still be beneficial I don't see how that would carry so much clout... But for example Coca-Cola Park will be called its original name Ellis Park during the coming World Cup...

Looks like Richards move could actually happen. Bye bye Younes? Hopefully not!

Looks likely doesn't it. Am i just dreaming or was there a rumour of ManC going for Kaboul last window - i have it in my head 12million???

Maybe Kaboul is leverage in this deal? Shame as I do rate him. Bassong and Kaboul are great squad players and they can cover fullback spots if needed.

Spot on, but Richards is basically like-for-like replacement for Kaboul, so unlikely to affect Bassong. Bassong's had a brilliant season and we'd be bonkers to let him go. He can cover LB as well, though with BAE/Bale unlikely to need that too often.

As for Kaboul, he played a significant part in our run-in and proved to be a very valuable squad player. I like the guy and think he's improved a lot. Slower than Richards but better in the air. While I guess Richard's got more potential he's no better than Kaboul at the moment..Richards being homegrown and Harry's ability to get the best out of players (Younes case in point) makes this more likely I guess..

I see no reason to think that we would get rid of Kaboul just because we have Richards. Similar players yes, but I do not think Woody is ever going to return. That leaves if King (knee) Daws, Bassong and Kaboul for the centre spots. Corluka and Kaboul for the right and Bale, BAE and Bassong for the left. We need the extra cover for the prolonged (hopefully) campaign we are up against next year. Richards would come in and push all them.

My only concern is his maturity level. Will he fit in, will he disprupt. Will he wait his chance? Otherwise I remember the way he was spoken of before as a major player for the future. Natural England right back/CB.

If it happens give the boy a chance. Remeber Kaboul is also DM back-up so will not be allowed to leave unless we have real cover.

Agree with you, having players like Kaboul, Corluka, Bassong, and may be Richards provides us with cover in all the defence positions. RB, CB,LB, DM and based rotation depending on suspensions, injuries and form you will get a happy squad.

Similar to players like Brown, O'Shea, Darren F, Gary N for united; these players cover LB,CB,RB, DM and they all get games as there are so many games to play in the season.

So no reason to sell Kaboul as he provided good cover for RB and even CM in the second half of the season.

Why wouldnt they be referred to as the sponsors name?

Surely if a stadiums name is XXXXXX how/why would they come along and say, actually we will call you YYYYYY stadium???

If the Emirates was used, what name would they give it?

They don't want anything to clash with the official sponsors of the tournament. All sorts of concessions to these companies regarding which traders can sell what, when and where.

These "higher powers" who are they? Government? Mayor? I know we have the Chairman of the Conservative party on our board (or he may have had to leave now they're in government)? Triesman (Spurs supporter and still a Lord)? I doubt the FA will be trying to flex their muscles.

It's the Illuminati dude. It's always the Illuminati.

According to SSN they have read a statement from Mancini saying that most of the speculation regarding players coming to and leaving hte club are wrong.

Transfer target list is small and specific and there will not be a mass exodus of existing players. Interestingly he has siad they haven't received a single bid from any club for any of their players.

Trouble with being a world cup stadium is always going to be transport links unless getting the bid and being chosen will mean getting the links we all want? Personally I'd like a direct link to WHL from Yorkshire
