i agree we won't finish 4th - i predicted 6th early season and it's looking fairly accurate

however there was a real chance - we didn't go all out to grasp it - i understand that

but city are there with the money to grab that chance

if our Corluka is injured we will call Hutton back. If Gomes is injured he will carry on regardless as he does...

In an interview Harry gave yesterday, he was very optimistic that we would strengthen significantly in the summer (Danny boy wanted to strengthen now to try and really go for 4th). This must mean that Harry's top targets were simply not available now.

A risk has been taken over RB and GK which is a bit of a strange one but we won't know the consequences of that risk until the end of the season. I

Interesting that it's harry not danny being cautious, if that is the case

i think it's all whistling in the wind anyway - we had a real chance for 4th - can't see it now - and it doesn't matter realistically how much we strengthen - I'm sure city will strengthen more

i just can't see us doing any better than 5th next season - and if I was to predict now - i'd go 6th/7th

has Harry taken us as far as he can???

If Jose Mourinho or Pep Guardiola is available Levy should be breaking the bank to get either one of them

Are you being serious??? Harry has taken us from relegation fodder to Champions League contenders in one season....For all his faults, Harry has done a tremendous job at Spurs and long may he continue....He`s lifted the club of its arse ffs.....

Yeah, changing managers when we are in no danger of relegation/anything drastically bad happening has traditionally always worked out for us, hasn't it(?)

I would have thought with a username like spursandbarca and your alleged contacts at Barca that you would have known that Guardiola announced he would sign a contract extension in the summer.

While we are at it we should create a time machine and bring in Maradona. I really think he would make a difference and push us to a top 4 place.

Yeah we should also contact United about bringing in Rooney on a free transfer and the FA about opening up the window for a few hours especially for us to put the deal through...

Whilst we are sat in 4th at the moiment, if we do not achieve that at the end of the season the reason for me won't be the signings or non-signings made in Jan, it will be the dropped points prior to that against Stoke, Everton, Hull, Wolves and Birmingham.

It's a shame as they were very winable games, but that's football and I suspect that our inability to get the job done in those fixtures suggests that we are not yet ready for CL football. Signing some extra quality would change that fact but would not allow us to go back and attain those "easy" points we have thrown away.

Didn't we go through this with Jol? As soon as we get a bit of stability and start building people get ideas above their station and want change, it's ridiculous.

To be fair, it may indeed be argues that Jol perhaps has indeed taken the club as far as he could. He did a good and competent job to bring Spurs to the top 6 category. But the tactical and training limitations, added to allowing complacency to set in the team, (especially for certain "favourites") meant we were not able to make that final step up to the top...

His time at Hamburg has shown again the tendency to start well, stay in top 4 for a large part of the season only to fall away on the final lap and finish outside. And that was in the less difficult Bundesliga, where he competing with the likes of little Hoffenheim for the top 4 place.
