Valdano sacked by Real Madrid

Real Madrid director Jorge Valdano has been sacked by the club, a move which hands full control of transfers over to manager Jose Mourinho.

Looks to me like Jose's managed to remove the fly from his soup and from now on will bring in the players he wants and not who Valdano decided on.

Any other club I wouldn't batter an eye lid if Mourinho had his way with getting rid of staff but this I am truely surprised at. There has been rumours that Zidane has been playing peacekeeper at Real and helping Mourinho earn Perez's trust whilst ushering Valdano out but I still never thought that Perez would get rid of Valdano just like that.

The pressure's sure is on Jose now! Huge gamble by Real M...and the only way Jose will justify his power games is by winning La Liga AND the CL next season. La Liga alone won't be enough most probably.
