Tottenham are in talks with TSG Hoffenheim over signing striker Vedad Ibisevic , according to German reports.

The 4-4-2 Web site says Tottenham are willing to pay the Bundesliga outfit €8 million for the 26-year-old's services.
The Bosnian forward is a big, strong player who is great in air. He also has good vision and dribbling skills, and can peel off well to the flanks due to his pace.
When on song, Ibisevic is a ruthless finisher. He has scored four goals this season, and found the net 30 times over the previous two campaigns.
He has also scored seven goals in 26 appearances for his national team.
Ibisevic - who speaks fluent English, French and German - is contracted to Hoffenheim until 2013.

Anyone know about this guy, his attributes sound exactly what we're after!

I get the impression he's not that great really. But then saying that, i dont know much about him, and I was one who wanted us to buy David Bentley, and look how that turned out.

So basically, ALL of what i just said is Pointless!.

His attributes are exactly what we're looking for? 34 goals in two and a half seasons? Not what I would call prolific.

Since he plays for Hoffenheim its 35 goals and 15 assists in 63 games in the Bundesliga and 5 goals and 4 assists in 11 games in the Cup. I would call that prolific.

Great player, really good header of the ball and good finisher. Great awareness of his teammates around him, thats why i always saw him more as the second striker than target man. Perfect for a 4-4-2 but dont know if he could play the lone striker. IMO would be an upgrade on Pav, Keane or Crouch, still need to see Defoe in some more games to decide where hes heading with VDV in our formation. But i dont think Ibisevic is the one special striker we all cry out for, thats his striking partner for Bosnia.

When hoffenheim were doing really well a couple of seasons back, i saw quite a bit of him and he did seem a good player.. I think he would do quite well at tottenham..

seems decent, if Keane is off to the MLS then would be a good replacement. Seems there's still ?marks about the Arry-Pav relationship and the bloke looks strong... He had 3 blokes jump on him at one point in that vid and stayed on his feet :O) Just imagine he could have Lenny, Defoe and Modders on his shoulders and parrade them round the ground AND hold the Cup too ;O)

Looks strong enough to play in the Prem and if he can head in Bale and Lennon's crosses he seems good enough to me while not breaking the bank if he doesn't pan out.

He would also be able to play in the Champions League so that would be a huge plus for him.

He can also score a penalty so might be worth 8 million right there.

His first season in the top flight, when they got promoted, didn't he get something like 19 goals in the league by the winter break before getting a horrible season ending injury?

I think the guy has a touch of the Berba's about him. Whether as good or not is another matter, but I've liked him for a few years now.

Cheers for the info guys, doesn't seem a bad shout to me, but not really sure how likely it actually is, or whether it is simply - Player + Journalist + Laziness = Signing for Spurs!

He's got attributes, but seems to be very inconsistent and there is a question mark will he ever regain his best form. Next.

Hmmm, Thowig not liking him (though Thowig is generally hard to please ;) ) makes me uneasy about my own evaluation, because thowig knows far more about Bundesliga than I do.

What does DP have to say on the matter? He's quite good for all things Lederhosen!

Same thought I had, don't want to call him poor man's Dzeko, but it kinda fits. Bosnian, big striker coming from the German league.

Kinda like with Rebrov - 2nd best in the Ukraine at the time...

 +1

 Think this is quite an interesting one. Hoffenheim were kinda like the Citeh of Germany, they bought in a lot of very good players, were a bit hi-and-miss, and now have to sell. Could be a real bargain. I don't know enough about him to make any real call, but 'Arry does know how to spot a player, and if he is as good as all that, £8 million is some more damned good business.

Just so long as he doesn't live in a caravan and disappear back to Bosnia midseason:rofl:
