A good friend of mine who is at one of the major accounting firms came round for dinner last night. He has excellent inside knowledge of the finances of the major investors that are underpinning Man City and said that in no uncertain terms they are very very close to toppling off a cliff. Funds promised when the acquisition of the club took place are yet to materialise, cashflow is negligible and the burden of high salaries, the payoff to Sven (still unpaid), numerous significant installments due relating to the signings made last summer and the weekly drain incurred by inflated wages are crucifying the club.

Unless Shinawatra manages to have funds unfrozen very soon then they will have no choice but to find investors that can inject cash into the club immediately. If no investors are forthcoming they could well have a fire sale next summer (or potentially even in January, though that is unlikely).

Everyone at Spurs and all of the ITKs are swearing blind that the paperwork has all been done and sent off to the FA. The long post by "Snout" on bluemoon (see above) seems extremely plausible to me. They're trying to bluff and bluster Spurs into backing down because Hughes has threatened to walk.

I think this one is headed for court unless City back down.

Assuming that our paperwork has indeed been completed, what I expect to see next is a claim from Man City that the person from City who authorised the transaction did not have the right to do so and that Corluka's contract with Tottenham is therefore void. From the outside, it's hard for me to imagine anything else that they could hang their objection on - unless, of course, the paperwork hasn't been signed off.

But it sounds as if it has.

Imo Ben's information was correct and the bloke from the city fanzine pretty much confirms that.So there's no point having people having ago at Ben about whats happen hes only reporting what he has been told. And as for the city situation it shows goes to show that not all foreign owners are like Abramovich.I hope Levy and the spurs board remain at the helm for a long time.COYS!!

I find it hilarious how all of you people swear blindly by "ITKs", sure Dan appears to be genuine, and prior to this window ben got some stuff right, but people assuming this transfer is off due to the word of a stranger on an internet forum is comedy. May I point out ben and many of the other "ITKs" you all worship claimed Luis Garcia had officialy signed. Notice how they all seem to jump on a media bandwaggon, how we never heard corluka mentioned vefore the times did, then suddenly they come out in force, likewise with Garcia.

City would win any 'paperwork' issue. Any club that manages to sign a player (Benjani i think) 5 days after the January transfer window closed after admitting the paperwork was not done on time will have no problems wrangling their way out of this one! Suggests they have someone on the inside!

And thats why people are told on here to take all the ITK with a pinch of salt. Some will always get more excited than others when they read a bit of ITK

As I always say, only believe it when its officially on the THFC web site. Mind you, Zokora looked great today ! I would have loved to see Corluka at WHL .. ah well, thought it was too good to be true ...

That is fair enough, I just find it irritating that threads about a player are filled with people discussing "ITK knowlege" as appose to jsut discussing the player themselve and the implications that signing would have. ITK discussion is fair enoguh in a designated area for people to discuss it who believe it, but it is particualry frustrating for me (who doesn't buy into it) that I have to scrole through pages and pages of a thread to find thought provoking, and facual discussion.

If only BEN could use proper English and take the trouble to explain things in a more detailed and clear manner, people would understand when things he has said will happen don't quite go according to plan!

That bit of ITK from Bluemoon was superb  - I wish more of the guys on COYS, FTL etc fed us info of that quality!

Well, I can't speak for the others, but I don't "swear blindly" by anyone. But I can read and, when I read in about 5 different places, some on the Man City side, some on the Spurs side and some of no fixed allegiance, that there is a huge barney going on at Man City about Corluka being sold and that Hughes is trying to cancel a transfer that Tottenham obviously consider to be locked down, i.e., when everyone from everywhere is saying exactly the same thing, it's hard to argue that something very strange is happening.

It's actually very easy to tell bullshit ITK from the good stuff - and it has absolutely nothing to do with whether the transfer in question actually gets completed or not, because things change very fast in football and good intelligence soon becomes outdated. Bullshit ITK brays out "done deal" before anyone could possibly have signed a contract or had a medical. Good stuff gives clear information about how the club works and couches every comment in conditions.

Thing that worries me is if it was a 100% completed deal, surely it would have been on the official site?

Also, if the transfer was complete, why would we let him go back to manchester - he would be our player and citeh would have no say.

Assuming, of course, that it is actually ITK.

I would have thought anyone authorised to sign a transfer would have to be already known to the FA?

I may well be wrong knowing the FA...

its never 100% until its on the official site, from what i have read its only the work permit that wasn't completed, Citeh ( Hughes primarily ) then vetoed the move.

what the guy on bluemoon posted looks very plausible, especially with the news coming out of the far east tonight.
BANGKOK (Reuters) - Ousted Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra will not return to Thailand again, a pro-Thaksin MP said on Sunday, suggesting the billionaire had flown to London from Beijing in violation of his bail terms. Thaksin was due to return to Bangkok on Sunday but MP Pracha Prasobdee told reporters at the airport he had spoken to a Thaksin aide who said the former prime minister would be making a statement "via the foreign media" at 9 a.m. from London.
That is about the same time Thaksin and his wife are meant to report to the courts under bail conditions set in various corruption cases against them.
