To summarise :

Moses is a winger/striker aged 21 with one good season behind him at Wigan - he could become very good or just as likely a Wayne Routledge (ok but not good enough for Spurs). He is a punt - and Spurs need to take some punts on players as we cannot afford to always buy ready made players.

Spurs need above all this season one or two strikers and a CB - after that we could fill cover for wingers Bale and Lennon with Townsend, and cover for fullbacks with either returning loanees Kyle Naughton and/or Adam Smith. We are ok in other positions (other than maybe goalkeeper) unless others leave.

Does Moses fit the main requirement as a striker - well not directly as a young winger/striker he would be a reasonable acquisition at the right price as cover, but would not be a first team addition as a striker. He maybe an upgrade on Townsend (who is a winger rather than a winger/striker) right now - but Moses is 18 months older than Townsend and if Townsend has a year's experience in the premiership, its likely Townsend would be as attractive as Moses for Spurs to cover the wing position (both score goals and have a number of assists to their name this season). Moses can play as a striker - but to date is better known as a winger - so is likely to only play as striker in emergency (much as Ashley Young did at Watford when Watford's strikers got injured). Townsend has only played as a left/right winger (and emergency left back) although at 6 foot tall has headed goals to his name etc. so has some of the attributes of a winger/striker - but Moses definitely has the edge in that role due to his powerful physique. For those who say he is too much of an individualist - look as his assists total this eason, it shows he does bring in other players

So overall - is it worth buying Moses ? Possibly, because we do not have a player like this who can add to the squad, but only after we have bought one or two strikers and a CB - Moses is not good enough as a striker to be considered as a top striker (although he could get there in a couple of years). He is a punt as a striker/winger, nothing more and nothing less. As a winger with 18 months more experience with Townsend is he that much further forward ? Well maybe but how much ????
To compare the two its worth looking at Townsend's goal against Yeovil from almost 18 months ago
which is close to the typical winger/striker goal we might hope for from Moses.

So Moses is not a priority signing in terms of position but could be interesting - once we are assured of the 2 strikers and CB !

(nb for those wishing for Eden Hazard - doubt we can afford him and 2 strikers and CB even with Champions League football - although he would be clearly far better than Moses)

Good player but still very raw. Ive seen on numerous occasions where he has been a little greedy and gone for goal when a pass to a team mate was the much better option. Maybe that can be coached out of him?

looks like an erratic head down merchant most of the time to me. We need more brains, not more no brains.

No ta.

Agree . Take Bale , amazing talent but needs to improve his decisions in order to become top players . And learn to use his right foot .

What do you think of Clint Dempsey BC ?

Skillful , a finisher and made of the right stuff like Parker ?

Never happen, him or Hoilett, we'll spend the summer chasing Hazard but end up getting Nobby Solano on a free

I just watched the poor sole come off the bench. God he's wasted. Can we get Liverpool to buy him and then sell him immediately to us? Does he play left wing?

Don't want no Chelsea and Liverpool reject.
What? There's just other talent contending for his position. He's hardly a reject. Don't you think he'd have to first be thrown back to Chelsea and then get sold by them before he could be called a "Chelsea and Liverpool" reject?

From what I've seen from him he isn't good enough, would rather have a higher quality player, that's just my opinion.

What's your obsession with players being wasted.

So you want to buy him but you don't know his position.

Nice logic.

Yeah but we're not a charity shelter, taking in cast away players. Especially when they're not good enough
Can't see how you can think he's not good enough, he's just unfortunately made a bad career move too early in his career, just like so many before him.
