Mate, you realise this guy would almost certainly play mostly for the U23s, if he signs he's not going to be our attacking signing for the summer FFS.

From what I can see he also plays CM a lot as well, so people are just making up this 'another young French winger' stuff.

I would hugely support him being purchased to go to the U23s. I wish N'Koudou and N'Jie had been given a season in our development squad.

Bit different though. Marcel has barely played for Nice, Nkoudou and Njie often started for two of the biggest clubs in France.

So many times we've seen this before, I'll wait until the end of the window before judging.

Seems like Onomah to me - I mean playing mainly as a winger at the club (and rarely plays), but it seems that his natural position is CM. Nothing like Njie / Nkoudou?

If this guy is bought it's obviously for development. Not sure why anyone would moan about it tbh .

If you look at thinking last window ,we bought 2 established players .1 very promising younger player .And 1 virtual unknown.I don't really see an issue making one of these type signings a window as long as the necessary areas are taken care of.Eventually 1 may pay off .

Don't get why people get angry about these potential signings. It's a no lose situation. If he's turns out great we look like genius'. If not Levy will shaft some poor chairman at another club and make a small profit on him. It's not much to get excited about but it's nothing to moan about either.

How much profit did we make on njie?

Seems to be following a tried and trusted formula...

2015 Target Martial, signed Njie
2016 Target Dembele, signed Nkoudou
2017 Target Lemar, signed Marcel???

There's always £30 million sissoko to show we mean business :p:p

If we end up signing him, Sun of all media would have the claim of the exclusive. Whats ominous in that Sun report is 'We discovered him by accident'...probably when we scouted Ricardo Periera.

I am not sure, how well we scouted him - but am going to give benefit of doubt on this French winger - atleast this has been scouted by our new scout team.

I don't think its people getting angry as such, it's just you go from lemar to a virtual unknown it's a tad disheartening, like most have said, if we can't attract "bigger players" when we've finished 3rd then 2nd, and qualified for UCL twice in a row it makes you wonder if something has to change budget wise, i don't agree with it, but when you see Everton spunking what they have, and paying 100k + for players wages, THAT surely must say to the club, hang on a minute we need to re-evaluate the wage bracket. Players literally don't care about league positions anymore.

Have we gone from Lemar to him though? I doubt some kid with 10 league appearances has been sounded out as the alternative to our main target. He's just someone with potential that we may be signing. Regardless of what other business we want to do.

Point is we prob need 2 major signings 3 at most if nobody leaves.Everton need to buy 6 or 7 to be anywhere near us.In fact most of the top 6 prob need 3 or 4 apart from Chelsea .So other clubs will look busier than us.
