(ffs) give him time. It is quite a jump from the romanian league to the Premier League.

Hopefully he has now a coach who can work consistent with him. Potential obvious there. Should be our third choice CB.
Valid OP in my opinion just asking the Q if he cuts the mustard.

I personally don't see him dominating games enough and he is too often caught out of position + is weak in the air. Wouldn't be too bothered if we kept him or not, still bitter about the stepping stone to Chelsea comments

Unlikely, not impossible, but unlikely. We have no divine right to finish top 4, there are at least 5 other clubs that should finish top 4 as well, which means there are at least 2 teams that will "fail" next year. Unfortunately I think we are favorites to be one of those "failures". Calling all our signings "numbskulls" and "useless" because we don't finish in the top 4 every year just means we will have a constant revolving door of managers and players, and that will only go one way long term.

Unfortunately, with the departure of Modric and Bale over the last few years and City, Chelsea and the Scum strengthening, the rejuvenation of the Bindippers and the likelihood of Man U being better this year, top 4 is a very big ask, TBH, if it wasn't for Utd being so shocking we would have been further away last year.

If everyone is fixated with a top 4 finish this season, its going to be a long disappointing season for many

You may be right and then again, you may be wrong in your assessment of our immediate prospects, but one thing's for sure, we as fans of the club should never give up hope. Never. Despite having the smallest stadium of any of the top clubs for the time being, we are still only a few points away from them, and who knows what Pochettino can do with our excellent squad this season, with a few prize additions of his own?

Keep your chin up mate, and keep the faith. Football may be many things but it's never predictable, as far too many betting slips on the bookies floor will tell you (too many of them mine, too).

Incidentally, this may mean nothing to anyone, but I work with a guy who is a staunch West Ham fan and he knows a few people within the club, and the strong word around the players there is that our entire squad absolutely love working with Pochettino, they think he is the absolute bollocks. Make of that what you will.

What I find weird is that everyone acknowledges that the transition to England can be difficult - particularly for midfielders and CBs, where positioning and making sure you have time on the ball is so important and yet after a season where Chiriches, for me, demonstrated he has great ability, but clearly wasn't quite up to speed, people are talking about him going or not being good enough.

Personally, I think he has everything but a bit of maturity.
