We're told it's 34c in the magnificent Hong Kong National Stadium and 90 per cent humidity.

I reckon Harry is going to get investigated for for some betting scam playing such an unbalanced team

Come on guys lighten up its preseason, its hot and we've got enough injuries we don't need anymore

but still its like loosing to a team in league 2

Did you think we would win the league after hammering Roma last season??

How do you think this team would fair playing us at WHL in the depths of winter?

A defeat or two in pre-season could be great for our team.

They seem to need a kick in the arse every now and then, hopefully this will act as that!!!

I think anyone who saw Harrys interview after the Hull game on Friday would know that he really didn't want this extra game and I am sure that he told them to take it easy and to take care not to get injured.
This result means nothing.

Great PR exercise

A game hardly anyone knows about, the media seem to think it's an afternoon kickoff, there are no streams at all (what exactly is Spurs TV Online for if not this?) and we have to rely on the OS "matchtracker" for any news at all.

Meh.

Bit of match fitness is all that game was for I think.

We could have done something closer to home. I am not a fan of this type of pre season where you play all over the world. How can you train consistently when you spend all your time traveling, doing press, playing at strange times with jet lag in conditions that don't reflect the conditions of the UK?

Pre season seems to be more about money than actually getting your team 100% locked in for the start of the season.

We should build PR by being dominant, winning things and having players like Modric, Lennon, Berbs etc to wow people watching highlights all over the world.

Haha. harry did a Ramos.

Remember when the Ramos answer for every single time we went behind was to go with Keane, Defoe and Berbs after half time? Although Ramos used to wait until 20 mins were left before he threw the kitchen sink at teams. Almost like clockwork.

A fine strike from Chan Siu Ki and a Li Haiqiang penalty were enough to hand the hosts victory over their Premier League opponents who, despite having beaten Hull and West Ham at the Barclays Asia Trophy last week, never really got going at the Hong Kong Stadium. It was also the first time Spurs had conceded while in the Far East.
With the game being Tottenham's fourth in seven days, boss Harry Redknapp opted to give the younger players in his squad a chance with the likes of Jonathan Obika, John Bostock, Danny Rose and Jake Livermore all handed starts.
Skipper Li scored a memorable goal from a free-kick against Liverpool two years ago and had the chance to repeat that feat early on but sent his effort harmlessly wide.
Tottenham had their first chance in the 12th minute when Roman Pavlyuchenko and Bostock exchanged passes before the former struck a low effort that goalkeeper Zhang Chunhui had covered.
Chances were at a premium after that but Bostock forged an opportunity shortly before the half-hour mark when he broke towards the area and, with defenders backing off, unleashed a powerful drive that Zhang had to be at his best to deny.
The shotstopper was called on again in the 36th minute to palm away Pavlyuchenko's rasping drive before the Russian striker again threatened from distance with a low shot that Zhang held onto near his right post.
Redknapp made changes at half-time, bringing on Jermain Defoe to partner Pavlyuchenko up front while Robbie Keane took Jermaine Jenas' place in the middle of the park.
But, despite the increased potency of the Spurs attack, it was South China who took the lead six minutes after the restart.
From a throw-in, Chan brought the ball down smartly before turning towards goal and despatching a sublime strike that looped over substitute goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes and into the back of the net.
Spurs tried to respond as Defoe struck an effort over the crossbar before Keane's deft flick inside the box hit the woodwork while Pavlyuchenko again tried his luck from distance.
However, Tottenham fell further behind in the 68th minute when the referee pointed to the spot following a fairly innocuous challenge by Livermore on Chao Peng Fei and skipper Li stepped up to coolly chip the ball into the net.
Defoe fired wide from distance as Spurs attempted to rally late on but South China defended well to ensure the win.

Meh, sounds like the players barely put any effort in, the manager just wanted some of the lads to get some running in who hadn't played much and all in all the game wasn't taken too seriously. I mean, Keane was put in central midfield FFS!

One more game to go, Crouch hopefully getting 75+ minutes to get him prepared for Liverpool a week later, and then it's time for the real thing.

it was a FIX. we all saw the olympics with that decision in the karate-type sport. 30 yard screamer meant nothing. They would have got a pen anyway. Yes i'm a sore loser but the above is certainly a possibility!
