I really dont think Webb saw the stamp - he was turning his head as the foot made contact. As the foot was coming down and changing direction he was clearly looking the other way. With the angle he was looking at I am not even sure he saw the foot make contact.

As Souness said - if he saw it then he shouldnt be allowed to referee a football match. Either way, someone will get a ban/demotion. If he says in his report he saw it then the PL will demote him for a game i would expect, and if he didnt see it then Balotelli will be charged.

Either way I dont blame Webb for it tbh

so what about the linesman, the forth official? What the fuck was they watching?

The game needs video ref's for instances like this, they had plenty of time to deal with it when Parker was seen too.

Along with stoke, we have been fucked again and all for the wrong reasons.

And web had his back to the incident, so he couldn't have seen it, which is why the game needs modernizing in respect to referee's.

I think the question to ask - is would it make a difference if the ref was different. I say no.

Balotelli got away with something in game - but may not get away with it out of game. However, this doesn't change the result.

Just, eugh.

Defoe puts that chance away, or squared that ball a few minutes earlier to Bale as opposed to being the greedy twat he is, and we won't be discussing Webb right now. Only one man to blame here......

Webb looked at the challenge longer than normal, then looked to the flight of the ball and then started to glance back just after Ballotelli had already stamped on Parker.

Anyone who blames Webb for not seeing that seriously must want Martians as refs with six pairs of eyes.

And this from someone who's default position is that all referee's are ****s, especially Webb.

I do, he was a couple of feet away and should have seen it.

but the ball had gone so he should be looking at the game, not 2 players falling over just in case 1 happens to do something he shouldnt surely??

Balotelli deserves a ban for it but i dont get why people think he should have seen it

Yeah to be fair, just watched it again, didn't realise he'd looked away completely. Hopefully he gets a retrospective ban for it

But there are THREE officials, one of them should have seen something.

either way Balotelli and Lescott should miss three games each if the FA have the balls to ban them retrospectively.

No, just competant unbiased individuals examining replays from all angles to make the RIGHT decision.

Agree with every word of this

I will though be pissed if the FA don't act against Ballotelli

Webb should have seen both incidents, end of.

you say that like it is fact, when its actually a referees job to watch play. To blame an official for not seeing an off the ball incident seems a little wierd. Would you be happy if he didnt give a foul when lennon takes someone on as he was still watching an earlier challenge?

It is the other officials are the ones who should be blamed.
