Couldn't the opening post have been thought of as more of an invite to discuss the topic at hand instead of piling abuse at Chris Miller?
Really quite the cesspit here at times.
Huh? Isn't that exactly what I did?
I stated what Chris had accused the club of across several forums. Stated my opinion. Then asked what others thought. I made it clear that I was open to other opinions.
Chris Miller showed no such restraint as he stated without reservation or fear of contradiction that the appointment ABSOLUTELY WAS RACIST across multiple forums.
Ffs
Sorry. Meant the other posters that didn't do anything else than say "Chris Miller is a prick" etc etc. I found your post perfectly fine.
Oh...
I withdraw my rather overly hostile response then...
yeah i am slightly confused by that, you spotted something and raised a genuine question regarding that opinion. Not sure why you should get any bad responses as you are literally asking the question. Some people don't take time to actually read what they are responding to.No worries. The amount of WTF and D'oh ratings I've received has made me question having started the thread in the first place
Highly experienced? Yes!He might actually have the glimmer of a point here. Mason is the golden boy who has been fast tracked beyond his competence. Powell is a highly experienced coach who was overlooked because.....? We don’t know, but I think it’s fair to assume that optics were more important than experience here, and for whatever reason the inexperienced Mason was seen as more of a crowd pleaser than the highly experienced Powell.
That’s not racism, but it might fall under unconscious bias. The gammons will never accept it though.
But on this particular case what is there to consider? The amount of information is completely minimal and any thoughts are mostly hypothetical.Instantly bristling against and rejecting this without consideration isn't a good look.
My instinct is probably not racist but without knowing about the unconscious bias or what was going on in the heads of the higher-ups, it seems silly to 100% rule it out and insult anyone who brought up the possibility.
I agree that my first thought when I saw the thread title was that it was in reference to King, but the Powell argument is a little more convincing.
I did not think you still posted! What a time to be alive. Woke fucktards!
Sometimes I just feel the urge to dip my head out of retirement!!I did not think you still posted!
What a time to be alive. Woke fucktards!
This is what I'm talking about.
It's entirely possible that there was an element of racism in the appointment. Bristling against and insulting the "woke" isn't exactly an honest, critical look at the situation.
Unless there’s evidence there’s no argument. This is what I'm talking about.
