Me too. Before every game, I always think we can win.

And after we lose, I always think we can win the next one as well.

And after we lose the next one too, I always think of next season.

And the cycle continues...........its been 34 years now............
Ha..it's been 34 years for me too. Damn you Ricky Villa and your wonderful FA goal. Your lured me in and I've been stuck here ever since (and wouldn't really have it any other way!).

The 3rd qualifying round match is on the day after our MLS All-Star match, so the club are either stupid for agreeing that match, or incredibly confident that we will finish top 6 and go into Group or play-off round.
If we finish 7th and Arsenal win the cup we will have to scrap the MLS game.

If we finish 7th and Arsenal win the cup we won't be in Europe at all.

Edit: Confused german guy. Forget it.

As we are almost certain to be in the Europa league, it is in our best interest to finish 5th, thus avoiding earlier qualification play

And finish above Liverpool. That for me would make this season a real achievement as that club and all those who are associated with it get right up my nose!

Im pretty sure that our youth team will be more than cable to despatch whichever group of pig farmers from eastern Europe we could potentially meet in the 3rd qualifying round.

A small bit racist, don't you think?

I don't think it's racist. He was just saying that many of the teams we encounter are Eastern European and, in comparison to Premier League teams, are about as good as "pig farmers", and not professional footballers.

It annoys me how for 2 seasons in a row we've been in contention for 4th place only to bottle it and lose against poor teams. Once 4th is out of our reach we then seem to relax and start picking up points again, finishing in 5th.

In terms of where we finish, 5th I expect and a play off place must be avoided at all costs as there's an above average chance you could end up playing a decent team in the play off and get knocked out... although that could be a blessing in disguise if we can bring in some decent players this summer who are physically and psychologically strong and capable of mounting a real challenge on the top 4.

There really weren't any decent unseeded teams in the play-off round...

What's most annoying was the last season with AVB we got 72 points which would have been enough for CL most seasons except the one bastarding season we do it.

Not forgetting that even finishing 4th, which has been enough every season since 4 sides were allowed, still wasn't enough for us to qualify because we are spurs.

It's very normal that therefore when everyone else starts fucking up we are nowhere to be seen.

No truer word said. :(

Wasn't just the villa goal that did it for me. I think even if we had lost i would still be a spurs fan rather than Man City.

Hoddle's flair and art on the ball and the simple but beautiful white shirt probably were the other reasons.

Im stuck forever now. COYS!

There was a decent handful, some who are near the top of their leagues this season and others who we've struggled against in the past.

Borussia Monchengladbach
Villarreal
Dnipro
PAOK
Dynamo Moscow
Lyon
PSV
Saint Etienne
Inter Milan
Club Brugge
Krasnodar

With the exception of Krasnodar, they were all seeded and as such we couldn't be drawn against them in the play-off.

Another way of looking at it is that the general standard of the league was poor that season, and four teams took advantage of it better than we did.

Agree with the last sentence though. If there's a window of opportunity available, we'll be stumbling through the trapdoor instead.
