City shouldn't have taken 2 minutes celebrating the equalizer.

But as that was in normal time surely that was added into the 4 mins extra time ????

Shame because even in this early part of the season I wanted them to both get 1 point, better for us.

Probably not as the 4mins would have been put into the board before the goal. And they didn't kick off again untill 1:30 into extra time

If the extra time added was for City's celebration, why wasn't any added on for Owen's celebration?

And completely unrepresentative of the incident. It was really just a soft shove to the face. Still hugely uncalled for as the incident was in hand but it was hardly GBH.

And, let's face it, after last weekend Bellamy must be seriously worried that he is no longer the most repellent and obnoxious footballer in the league, nay, even his club. Serious action is called for if he is to regain his mantle. Don't be surprised to see the golf clubs come out again.

Hughes quote on BBC after the game:

"Historically it has happened before. I was in teams here where we always had a little bit of benefit. I never felt it was an issue when we played here. But since I have left maybe I have changed my view on that."

Enough said.

Man City have every right to be annoyed with the time added on.

Chelsea v Spurs had 8 minutes added on, for two very serious injuries, that took almost longer than 8 minutes.

Manchester Derby gets 7 minutes added time for nothing.... jokes.

Maybe the added time in the Manchester derby was right though, nine times out of ten nowhere near enough time is added on at the end of a match.

Hughes has got to be livid with that top video, what the hell does the 4th official think he's doing laughing and joking with 1 manager at such a volatile moment, ridiculous. Hughes would have had every right to blow his top at that!

Also Uniteds entire dugout went running onto the pitch when they scored, completely unacceptable or can all dugouts now empty onto the playing surface when you score?

Actually, i was going to make a bench clearance joke, but it made me think, maybe the FA should take a leaf out of Ice Hockey's book and allow the odd one on one brawl

If two players get into a tussle, usually a ref steps in and books them both after a brief nose to nose homo-erotic moment. I reckon it would be more interesting if the ref and nearest lino stepped up and just stood off to stop interference then let the two of them go at each other, see what they actually do. Most of the time it's just a bit of shoving, head bumping and i doubt much would change as players would know they would be booked for it afterwards, but in some cases it'd be hilarious to watch, would pack in the crowds and would mean that players might think twice about getting into a tangle with another player.

 Totally agree, most players only square up because they know absolutely nothing will happen and no fistycuffs will occur, embarrassing to watch, I love your idea.

Back to United and City, if I was a city player and somebody from Uniteds bench ran past me on the pitch to celebrate I'm absolutely certain I would have lost control and started swinging, and then let the games begin!

To be fair, they had just scored in the last minute of the game against their local rivals in a rollercoaster game. You hardly expected them to just sit there and clap the goal?

I didn't see anything wrong with what they did.

I think you'll find it's called "encroaching on to the field of play."
Which is wrong, officially, at least according to the rules...
But this was ManUSA, at the "theatre of dreams"...
So obviously allowed then or, as you put it... "I didn't see anything wrong with what they did."
That's the kind of comment I'd expect to see on RedCafe. Sadly.
