I'm glad we've chosen a stadium [any stadium] that isn't the Stadium MK, as it means I won't have to take a season off following Spurs and all other football in disgust until such time as we move into our new home.

I think if the deficiencies in the team are addressed (properly) in the summer, then Wembley will be fine...

I understand some fans say that we should not blame the stadium. But I think this quote from Dejaegere of Gent reflects some truth:

"Six years ago I came to Wembley on a guided tour," Dejaegere said.

"I was not allowed on the pitch, there was a sign, 'don't enter the grass on the pitch'.

"It's fantastic, like the Mecca of all stadiums, so it gives you something extra. And if you see how many people were here from Gent it gave us something extra.

"But also maybe they always lose their games here so it can get in the heads of the players. Maybe they just need one big victory here which could change everything."

ffs
how many people wanting MK stadium have actually been to a football match there?
Us fans said we wanted to stay in London
Dog Brady said no way OS
Arsenal don't want to rebuild their toilets every week
Where else can we go?
Wembley is a great stadium where everyone who wants to see spurs actually will be able to
Wembley jinx? - bollocks we beat Moscow there

OK so where would we go?

cant we just stop being negative moaning old ****s and get on with it

When spurs aren't on top or winning the atmosphere isn't electric at the lane and ive been going there since 81. Its our home but look at what we are building. cant we please get some counselling and improve our outlook/mood and back the club in where its trying to go
I've been to Stadium MK for a number of different things including football.
I'd have absolutely no issue with us playing there next season apart from the fact I would have bugger all chance of getting a ticket.

At you're one of those anti-MK Dons people, who, like most, have absolutely no idea about why it happened, how it could have happened many years earlier, and that the reality now is that if there were no MK Dons, there would be no AFC Wimbledon.

I for one wouldn't have stepped foot in stadium MK, as I don't want us to have any association with that club, apart from taking their best players off their hands of course.

That's quite a lot of presumptions you're making there, given that you don't know me from Adam.

There wouldn't have been the need for AFC Wimbledon if there had still been a Wimbledon FC, instead it was taken away from the fans and community to become a franchise FC.

This isn't the thread for it, but yes I fully understand the history of the situation.

I go Mk a lot and the stadium is lovely and a full house ( which rarely happens ) the place rocks.

The problem with Wembley not the affect it really has on us but what effect it will have on away teams.

They will love going... there fans will love going

Wrong... Wimbledon FC were going out of business unless they moved. Merton council had no interest in keeping them there. Without the move the fans would have lost the club regardless

why wont our fans love going?
I know its huge and probably a bit bigger than we would prefer but beggars cant be choosers and I reckon it will be quite cheap to get in.
We got a jinx there? I don't believe it, other clubs will have the same issues, if we are outsung by away fans that's OUR FAULT as spurs fans.

how much does mk hold? 32k?
we will only moan as we cant get tickets, the ones that go would moan at the transport times and costs, when we keep loosing they will moan at the mk jinx.........

I'm actually torn between the two...
MK is 10 mins away for me, but cock all chance of getting tickets
Wembley is 40 mins for me on the train and much more chance of getting tickets, at least for midweek matches.

WHL takes me almost 2 hours to get to...

Wembley is a horrible season stadium with a terrible atmosphere.

Can barely here one side to the other which means there would have to be a big effort to get like minded fans all in one area which I can't see them doing.

I don't believe in a jinx but do believe teams will play or should I say give much more effort at Wembley than they would anywhere else.

Most player & fans wouldn't have been before so the cliche of thier cup final is really true for this.

As for transport I live in mk so for me to get to WHL takes 1hr 15 mins in or out

To get to Wembley is pretty much the same but out add another 30/45mins on due to the sheer number of people getting out.

So anyone moaning about transport to mk has no issues.

2x train station one about 15 mins walking distance plus loads and loads of parking.

Anyway moot point as club already made decision and hopefully doesn't come and bite us next season

Once you get a hoodoo into a footballers mind, its game over. That's the main issue

Thinking positively, could playing at Wembley (once we get a couple of confidence-building wins in our system) actually help us as the smaller teams that normally come to WHL and sit back playing for a draw, teams that we tend to struggle to break down, will look to make the most of the occasion and actually come to play football.

Yes away teams will up their game as it's Wembley, but that added confidence could play right into our hands. They won't want their once in a lifetime opportunity of playing football at Wembley to be a game where they just let the opposition have the ball for 90 mins. They will want to make a positive impression on the game - nobody goes into a cup final looking to draw...

At the moment we see the extra confidence away teams have as a negative because we're going through a bad patch at Wembley in terms of results. But once we get a couple of wins, I think Wembley could very well end up being an advantage for us

Whilst it might affect us in the short run, I think it will do us good to play a season at Wembley in the long run. We'll get used to playing in big crowds and coping with the weight of expectation.

It will only help for when we get the new stadium.

On a separate note I can't think of any viable alternatives anyway, playing in MK is a very silly proposition.

I don't think Craven Cottage, Selhurst Park, Loftus Road etc are big enough and obviously we wouldn't be able to play at Chelsea or Arsenal.
