Wembley wasn't the issue last night, one again though it's fucking hilarious that after the vast majority of fans and the supporters trust etc. implored Levy to get us playing there and no other option would do that they've already had enough of it

The pitch is fantastic, the numbers are great and the stadium is lovely. But FFS...getting to and from is an absolute nightmare. The idea of going there 20 odd times next season...yikes.

I actually thought the atmosphere last night was the best it's been during our little sojourn at Wembley.

Is the new WHL going to have dimensions like old WHL or closer to those at Wembley?
Not really.

The dimensions of all pitches is the same unless they cant make it bigger however new WHL stands will be much closer to the pitch than Wembley and be much more intimidating

See no one complains about swansea, Man utd or Aston Villa's pitch being too big despite being the same as wembley because the stands are close to the action. Part of the problem with Wembley is because it has big gaps between the stands it makes the pitch seem wider for fans and players. Barcelona complained in the 00's about playing at away due to the size of the pitch, not allowing them to play their game despite the pitch being the same size as the camp nou.

Wembley being an 'absolute nightmare' to get to is entirely dependent on where you live. For me, it's an easy 10-15 minute trip on the Tube. On the other hand, White Hart Lane is a really drawn out journey for me.

Have u never changed your mind about anything?
Of course. But to be honest, I'd be really pissed off if I was Levy, having given in to the fans' requests to agree a Wembley deal, they are now moaning about it.

This is what the fans wanted, tough luck.

It's getting away from Wembley that's the problem. Stadium starts emptying from 60 minutes onwards. That's going to be a major problem next season.

Lovely. Does that mean I can park at yours next season???

Mate, i think its bloody naive to think that the only reason we'll be at Wembley next year is because the fans demanded it.

Yeah, the stadium started flooding out when they scored their second last night, i started to get a bit twitchy. Stayed til full-time though and it still only took me an hour to get back.

I thought the atmosphere was quite good where I was behind the goal in Club Wembley. For the CL games I was in the upper section which was quiet in comparison.

I cant see us giving 7,000 tickets to every premiership team which will have an effect on atmosphere, I thought there fans were superb last night.

I didn't notice it emptying that much until their second goal - then everyone in my row went. I gave up at 85 mins as well, thinking about getting to the tube.

Having said that, for me it's a hell of a lot easier to get back from Wembley than it would be from MK. And it's a lot easier to get to games if there's 90k tickets for sale than 25k. There were loads of kids there last night, I think that's a great thing - people being able to get their kids into Spurs - and it's great for the future. I've no idea how that'll pan out in the new stadium - tickets are hard to come by and astronomically priced at the Emirates - maybe we'll end up the same, but I think there are a lot of good things to come out of playing at Wembley. Sure, I'd rather be in N17, but that can't happen next season anyway.

Atmosphere will get better as it becomes regular, people have the same seats, etc, etc.

Tbh last night I thought the walk to Wembley Park wasn't that bad. Glad everyone pissed off after their second goal and the Gent fans stayed in the ground to celebrate. The queues to the station looked bad but I only had to pause a couple of times and we were straight through the station and onto our (northbound) Jubilee train really quickly. Probably takes me longer to get home from WHL and I only live 3 miles away.

It's certainly not a great home ground. Particularly if we open it up to full capacity we will end up with a cluster of 7,000 away fans in one corner, all tightly packed in and a dare say they will make more noise than our fans who will be far too dispersed through the rest of the stadium. We need to carefully plan things to make sure the atmosphere isn't lost completely.

Agree about planning how to make noise - 7,000 people shouldn't be able to out sing 73,000

I thought the atmosphere before the own goal was fantastic last night. Even when we scored the second it picked up again.

I actually thought our performance was decent last night, and I've certainly left Wembley more disappointed. I think the team playing there for the season will do some good when it actually is time to move back home. No mater how big the new ground will feel, it will feel small and intimate in comparison to the bowl that is Wembley. I do worry about our form over the season, but I actually didn't think our pressing game was that bad yesterday, and it will help with the transition back to the new ground.
