Wembley - Changing my mind

Up to now I've been in the 'we should try to play at Wembley' camp during our season away from the lane. But after seeing the state of the Wembley pitch during this weeks Euro qualifier it's put doubt in my mind for wanting us to play ther.

I'm not sure the pitch can cope with the volume of games that would need to be played over the course of a full season. Esp with more and more NFL games coming over here (three this year and five already planned for next year).

This isn't to say that I'm warming to Milton Keynes as I'm not (the thought of alligning our club with evil franchise football like MK Dons who ripped the heart out of Wimbledon sends a shiver down my spine) but I'm not sure where I want us to end up now...

What's the current mood for the next best place?

I'm still in the camp of couldn't care less/which option gets our new stadium built at WHL quickest.

From what I gather Wembley hasn't been a realistic option anyway. We may get special dispensation to play 'bigger' games there but a whole season...

If we do have to move, and assuming that Stamford Bridge/Emirates/OS are very unlikely, MK seems the closest viable stadium.

meh.

I think there's more chance of the club changing it's name to Tottenham CareBears than there is of that fantasy stadium getting built anytime soon

I'd prefer the Amex

There's only 3 NFL games at Wembley next year. I hope we play at Watford & if there's any big European ties or games against top 6 at Wembley or Twickenham

I love Amez, but it's next door to my old Uni campus (want to grow up now) and is not worth it, much further than Stadium MK.

Meh, Dons have a bigger pitch than we do. That's all I care about, as I actually agree that the size of our pitch is partially the cause of our problems.

To make it clear there are no restrictions on the amount of games Wembley can hold with a restricted capacity of 50,000.

We shouldn't be giving money to scum like them. I realise this may perhaps be a little more difficult for you to understand (without sounding patronising) given that teams moving location and re-branding etc isn't uncommon in America, but turning Wimbledon into MK Dons was despicable

No offense taken as you're undoubtedly right, in fact I hesitated to even say anything on account of my ignorance. But I do feel passionately that opposing sides often use the size of the pitch at WHL against us, and in my ignorant scope of this issue that consistent leverage against my club is at the forefront of my opinion-making.

100% this. If it's MK Dons, it's MK Dons. I would prefer that it was somewhere different but if it's the best viable option then so be it.

There's no morality in football anyway.

I'm totally confused. What the hell happened to the original plan of partially building the new stadium around the current one and then moving into the new but incomplete one? All this shit about finding someone who will 'put us up' for a season is just so much hassell. And I can't stand the idea of not being self sufficient!

I'm in the camp of, lets suck it up and go with whatever option makes the new stadium build more efficient. If that is MK then I won't actively like it, but i'll accept it.

Although has The Valley been mentioned so far..?

Decent size, in London (although the 'wrong' side of the river), only half fill it themselves so may enjoy extra revenue, has overground train links right next door so travelling from North London isn't impossible..?
