Unbelievable. Dier comes in for his debut, is moved to a different position and then scores a goal AND was excellent throughout.

Bloody hell.

Terrible match and if we were playing a better side would never have won that.

I hate Shit Ham. Their glory last season was the treble over us? Exactly.

I'm just glad we won because those three points might just make the difference at the end of the season.

What amazing composure from a debutant - and a defender at that! Incredible goal, brilliant result despite the odds against us with the red card. Can't believe it!

What a ending to an other wise boring first game of the season.. Elated to get the 3pts and what a immense start to Dier's career here at spurs

Bloody hell that was a fantastic result under the circumstances. Well done Poch, good call with Kane sub over Soldado tbh even though I doubted it - well done on giving THE LIVING LEGEND Dier his full debut. Fantastic result - over the moon

what a great attacking run by Dier. Great through ball too, that's more like it.

Bloody hell.

I missed part of the 2nd half. Was he moved up to DM? or RB?

It's Stalteri mark 2...

Bu hopefully he'll do something else for us afterwards.

Not a great game, but we are severely under prepared IMO, the pressing and movement stopped after 10 minutes.

I'd say it's gonna take at least 5 weeks until we see improvements.

results like today will help though.

COYS!!!

Yeeeeeeeeeees!
Was great to see a bit of fight. We were possibly lucky to get away with this one. West Ham had some chances, but were terrible in front of goal.
What a relief!
And so that feeling of being a Spurs fan is back. The roller coaster has started!
COYS.

Wonderful from Dier. This squad has shown a lot of mental toughness in the last year winning matches like this against bottom of the table teams when they've been short on luck. Great mentality from the back line to keep us in this.

Poch is going to have to tinker with the lineup a bit to find out his best players. Wonder whether Vertonghen will start right away when fit next to Dier.

Positives: Dier is definitely going to be a star, Rose looking a lot better under Poch, Bentaleb showing a different side to his game towards the endNegatives:Lamela wasn't on top form today, Kaboul is a massive liability, we need to replace Townsend/Lennon

It's based on him having a pedigree scoring and linking play in the PL, hardly rocket science.
do you think we would have scored that goal if Ade had stayed on? I don't holds onto the ball too long and invariably loses it, wasn't at the races today, hoping he ain't fully fit hence not meritting a start

Great start to the season.

Dier was excellent and what a composed finish.

The team showed fight, something we sorely missed last season.

We looked much better when Townsend and Holtby came on for Lennon and Lamela.

Although Lamela didn't offer anything going forward, he chased the ball a lot which was good to see. Lennon was sh*te as usual.

Going forward, MM is a must, as is another attacking player, whether it be a winger or a left sided forward.

We win. Teams we'll be competing with dropped points in very winnable games. Nice way to start the season.

Was going to vote Dier man of the match even before the goal. Top performance so early on. Moved out of position too.
